Description

**APPLE DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2022**

SCIENCE-BACKED METHOD TO BUILD BETTER HABITS
Most habit trackers fail. They try to motivate you with games like streaks and trophies only to turn on you when you fall off. Building habits doesn’t have to be miserable.

60 REPETITIONS
Studies show that a new behavior needs to be repeated 60 times for it to stick. It doesn’t matter if you miss a day or break a streak. It just matters that you do it 60 times. Great habit builders learn to ignore the goal and falling in love with the journey.

WE’RE YOUR GUIDE
Every day we will help you take another step and guide you along your journey to reach 60 repetitions until you’ve mastered your new habit.

NO GUILT. NO STREAKS. NO PHONY REWARDS.
If you miss a day or two, we don’t guilt you.

JUST GOOD FUN VIBES.
Every step forward is progress.

WHAT SMALL THING YOU COULD YOU DO TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE?
Works for any habit: meditate, walk, stretch, floss, read, journal, draw, keep in touch with family, or less time on screens.

WIDGETS & REMINDERS TO STAY MOTIVATED
Track your habits on your home screen for easy access.

SKINS TO CUSTOMIZE
Skins change the whole look and feel of the app. New skins and artist collaborations released occasionally.

rlaracuente,
It’s great! A few minor tweaks would be nice though
I love the app all in all and I feel it’s the first app that has kept me honest with my habits. A few suggestions I feel would improve things much further would be: Please make it so we can switch habits by swiping let or right on most of the screen. Right now most anywhere on the screen that we touch “presses” the center checkmark button. And habits are relegated to a tiny font at the top and that’s the only spot we can switch. It would be more dynamic if the font for the habit was larger and the center button was smaller, and swiping a where else on the screen left or right would switch between habits. Likely with your brand of sleek but snappy animation. The more I think about this the more I want it.

Also it would be interesting if progress on the little figurines was lost if you break a streak. This may be extreme but it can be an optional thing.
Matt the Engineer,
Fantastic app with two flaws
I absolutely love the artistry and interface. One of the flaws (biggest one) is not having cross device support. I understand you’d have to have a database and hold user data for this which would cost you instead of holding all the data locally on the user’s device. I’d suggest adding another pricing tier to add this feature. I’d pay it. I use my MacBook, 2 iPads, and iPhone interchangeably and it’s frustrating not being able to track habits from different devices. Add this feature and you’ll have 5 stars. On top of being able to seamlessly track habits across devices (without having to click a button like restore), it would be great to access skins this way as well instead of unlocking them on each device. Second flaw is not having a landscape view.

Bonus extra work: create icon sets to match the artistry of the app and wallpapers. Jump onboard iOS16 developer beta and create some new Lock Screen skins. Create a daily task manager app. You’ll be making booku bucks. :) just a suggestion.
Chelle27609336,
Love it!
A. The only app that isn’t going to look over my shoulder saying “whatcha doing now?” Love that.
Science based but doesn’t assume they know more than I do about which habit to start with. I love that I didn’t have to start with “drinking water” for 7 days before I could move forward.
As an easily discouraged perfectionist, I LOVE that if you miss a day (or a week) that it doesn’t become the app of shame. I never know if I should start over or quit. So I put my tail between my legs and delete it. BTW who ARE these people that start and just consistently bullet their way through a new habit and why do they even need an app for that?
True - that when I swipe right I expect to go to the last screen I was on but when my little iceberg or mountain thingy spins and flips instead I’m fine with it :-)
bridled,
This is surprisingly effective at building and reinforcing habits
After reading Atomic Habits, I was looking for an effective way to reinforce and build regular habits. This app is the best I’ve tried of all the systems, digital, or non-digital.

If I would offer anything to improve it, it would be nice to customize the messages as they can feel a bit superfluous. But it doesn’t take away from the core idea that we like to write physical lists so that we have the satisfaction of crossing off the line item on the list. That satisfying completion is affectively reproduced here with the power up checkbox with a custom vibration and sound. It’s a fascinating psychological reinforcement that‘s well designed and effective.
Sherif S.,
Looks beautiful, but a bit boring.
Lots of emphasis on beautiful animations, sounds, and haptic feedback. I found the UX too clunky. I struggle to go to and edit the list of habits, the widgets are large and space inefficient. Sometimes when I tap at the bottom row the habit gets completed when I didn't intend to. The part that seems to have received a lot of effort is the different visual stories you complete as you sustain a habit, but the story is repeated for all habits. I understand it's impractical to create a different progression for each habit, but the effect of this is if you have one habit that's "ahead", you know the story and you gain nothing by going through it as you complete other habits, which I found to be pretty boring and lacking in novelty unfortunately. I subscribe to a lot of apps, but I think the price is high for what you get.
dorsal44,
Excellent habit tracker
For someone who actually needs a functional
Habit tracker. Other habit trackers have too much other gunk like blogs or media that don’t actually add any value. This app thoughtfully restrains the UI complexity of adding tasks. This app is also stunningly beautiful with satisfying animations and haptics coupled with inspiring narrative progression— gives a good positive feedback loop to completing habits. It’s the sort of thing that I would give 6 stars, because even without this level of polish, this would be an excellent habit building tool. Subscription price is reasonable, and actually cheaper than the previous habit tracker I was using so that’s a win.
Clurichaun,
I will not subscribe…
.. to this app because it is just ok. I mean it is different, looks cool and maybe it gets the job done or Maybe it is just deciding to exert some willpower. Who knows. And also what does one get with the subscriptio? Why not a pay price upfront instead and then own app till some big update? The skins are cool. Why cant we just buy new cool looks which ends up being more than subscription but the point is we own it, not some rental. So my bottom line is am sick of subscriptions and only am keeping what have to have and not very cool looking, potentially helpful for 1 thing, apps. I do appreciate the different take on habit trackers which I normally hate. Industrial, minimal, also 👍🏻🥂
Classical Reproduce,
Great habit tracker, overpriced
Habits is one of the best habit trackers I’ve ever used. It’s beautiful, fun, encouraging, and the satisfaction of getting another level makes it so I don’t need 50 notifications a day to open it (and it doesn’t send you a ton like other apps.)

The big problem is it’s subscription. It’s $70/year if you want any decent “skins”, the cheaper tier doesn’t include any fun ones. That’s way too much for a habits app.

Theoretically it includes 3 other apps, but this is the only good one. The other apps included are extremely over-designed and underpowered, an example of when you have designers over following trends who’ve never used the app they’re building. The calculator app is great until it lags while you type a 3 digit number, the weather app doesn’t look as good or act as well as the stock weather app that’s free or something like Carrot weather which is cheaper. The timer app has no live activity support, doesn’t support hours, and is just all around unusable. Out of all the apps, this one feels like the devs never opened a timer before in their life.

Anyway, great habits app, shouldn’t cost as much.
madguy255802,
This is great and I don’t rate apps
Simple, interesting, fulfilling. This app does just enough to grab your attention and do what it needs to without being too much. No spam notifications throughout the day unless you haven’t completed your habit for the day.

You start by putting in a goal, and once one completed that goal you hold a button that pops into a checkmark. My favorite part is a statue is built before your eyes every day you complete your goal along with a quote to keep you going. Simplistic, effective, well designed.

(Forgive any spelling or grammar, writing this on no sleep)
Lil Aspiring Writer,
The app we’ve all been needing
Rather than punishing you for missing a day, this app rewards daily habit progress with satisfying sensory experiences, like vibrations and creative visuals when you complete a habit. The subscription would improve the experience, and I might get one, but I definitely appreciate how it does not make me frustrated with the free version (i.e, you can still get limitless habits w/ the free version)— please keep it that way. This is the best one I’ve ever used, and now I’m looking into this company’s other apps. Please continue creating!!
