Tealily,
I love it
Two years I had bariatric weight loss surgery and lost 135 pounds. During quarantine I regained about 10 pounds which brought up so much anxiety and fear. This app has been unbelievably helpful psychologically. It doesn’t focus on calories (although I set it up for bariatric weight loss and it does ask the same questions a health clinic would- calories and protein- however, you can set it so it doesn’t ask about calories). It really helps with my emotional eating by asking me describe my emotions and hunger level both before and after I eat. I log what I eat as well as my thoughts about it. It also gives great advice, such as avoid black and white thinking and know that you are more than your physical appearance. It is a fantastic tool for anyone who has food and body issues. It promotes kindness towards self , problem solving, and accountability. When I use it the extra pounds drop and I spend less time berating myself and more time actually making good choices. Thank you to the developers. I am so grateful. It is worth the cost for me since when I lost 135 pounds my diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea all went into remission. It isn’t just about looks for me, but my health- especially during these COVID times when obese diabetics with high blood pressure are at such high risk for serious complications.

Accessible. Dynamic. HELPFUL! Fun to use.
A truly helpful tool. It is a relief to have this app with very dynamic meal logs that take your emotional state into account, meal plans for all kinds of health conditions + types of disordered eating, journaling, and actual (good) RECIPES! There is also lots of motivation and cute pictures. The aesthetics are ok. You can also track your moods + meal logs overview as a type of report on how you did in a period of time! The ability to connect this app to your clinician is probably one of the best features. This is free and worth a try, because it may be one of the little tools in your toolbox that will help you thrive.
gabygoldfish,
Thoughtful and positive app to build a healthy relationship around food
One caveat is it’s a little unclear everything you need to do to keep a logging streak going, I’ve logged everything I’ve ate but it keeps getting reset to zero.

Also, I am using this as a tool to be mindful of my food. However I do have milestones I am aiming to achieve for my overall health and well-being. Not sure if it’s possible to track things like distance biked or things like that. I may just not have figured it out yet.

Still highly recommend for something that is not shame based (looking at you Lose It)
Dmk2662,
A supportive app
I have used quite a few “diet“ apps but this app is the first one that I feel actually is going to give me the support that I need. My dietician can log in to see what I’m actually eating, gives me motivation tools and makes me accountable to somebody else without a feeling of being judged. The pictures and quotes at the end of logging are also motivational. This app is meant to keep track of what you eat but it doesn’t go into a red zone if you’ve eaten to many calories which can make you feel defeated. There is a menu planner and recipes. I am using this app in conjunction with the Intuitive Eating program.
Kaytilady,
Love it
I really like it as a person who struggles with emotional eating, disordered eating, emotional stuff in general, and food intolerances (and all the stuff that comes with that - bowel issues, etc.). It helps me track so many things and the format looks calming which helps.

The one thing I wish it had was a place to log how much you sleep. That’s one of my big goals this year and it fits right in with the other things Nourishly tracks. Just an idea!
Godscreat,
Love It!!!
I love this app for a few reasons: I don’t have to keep a written diary for my nutritionist because I can take a picture of my food and it is seen by my nutritionist...and she can provide feedback. The app keeps me on track for eating my meals by alerting me it’s time to record my meals. It has been instrumental in helping me fulfill my goal to eat all my meals each day. It also provides encouragement, meal planning and a host of other tools.
L-izzy,
Great from people recovering from EDs
I’ve used MyFitnessPal for over a decade, and I struggle greatly from binge/restrict cycles. I am working with a dietician who recommended I begin using this so I can journal food without calories and so she can easily see my intake. The questionnaires for each meal are so helpful for reviewing how I’m feeling, and I appreciate the encouraging messages at the end of each meal log.
EnvyW,
Love the app
The only changes I would love to see made… pictures of meals before and after. It would be good to see what isn’t finished. Also I wish there was a way to connect my apple ihealth and Nourishly. I have an iwatch 8 and there’s so much information I’d love shared with my Nourishly.. (not just my step tracker). Otherwise I highly recommend the app.
Elle2016,
Log Reminders
I like this app. I like that I can take pictures of my meals and move on with my day. My only issue is lately I have been receiving reminders that I have not logged a meal. I take the photos, and I assumed it counted as a log. If it doesn’t, that would be a suggestion that I’d make. I don’t always have time to assess how I feel about what I ate or where and who I was with. I think that would be a great way to make me feel like I’m making progress.
RoxyMartin,
I really need an app like this
I needed this app because there is an EMOTIONAL component that impacts eating.
Having a eating disorder makes it worse. This app has many encouraging features that makes it not about the food but what’s going on inside
Logging the food is easy and not tedious. I just wish it had a way to see calories and give suggestions for a different choice.
