Shantae: Risky's Revenge Review
Without a single doubt, my favorite video game (tied with Sonic 3 & Knuckles). I love this game to pieces. This was my first Shantae game (would like it if the first and third game were in iOS too) and this was a series I've been interested in for a while. The gameplay is amazing, and the upgrades aren't too limited. I love how, similar, to Link Between Worlds, upgrades are limited by a magic meter instead of a numeral amount. This is something I wish a lot of other games could do too. The characters and storyline, while a little hollow on occasions, are filled with quirky writing, and funny 4th wall breaks and spoofs. The soundtrack is full of the mid-eastern-type world Shantae lives in whole being both atmospheric, and catchy. Since the rating system here is a bit limited. I rate this 9.5/10. I give high recommendations for any old school-platforming, retro, metroid-vania style gamers.

This game is amazing!
I love everything about this game, from its story to its gameplay. The side characters are everything from funny to adorable to even a little bit mysterious, and you may find yourself "accidentally" stopping by their places from time to time to speak to them and get a hint or two on what to do next. I even wanted to see Risky Boots more often than she came, and she's the main villain. The only two characters I found myself hating was the mayor of Scuttletown and Shantae's Uncle Mimic, but there was no need to worry, because they got punished for their damaging flaws by the end of the game in some way that was appropriate, not too kind nor too harsh. This game is perfect and anyone who doesn't experience it has no idea on what they're missing out on.

Well, I just finished this game yesterday, and there is only one word I can use to describe this: AMAZING. The graphics are great, the animations are smooth and the story and dialogue are very well written. I only have a couple of gripes with it. 1. Only one alternate costume is actually available. I think adding more would enhance the experience. 2. The story is a bit short. Maybe add some sort of DLC to extend the adventure so it doesn't just end so abruptly. That's all I have to say about this. (And the thanks to Chris Hoffman & Nintendo Power in the credits made me smile) Now, to anxiously wait for the sequel to become available. (Mighty Switch Force in HD would be nice too)

Classic, Funny, and Deep
What a gem. This is an absolute must-play for fans of 2D Action RPGs from the NES SNES, GBA, or NDS eras such as Zelda II for the NES. Our half-genie hero a relatable and inspiring girl who is strong and adventurous, but has life's circumstances force her to adapt, be humble, and work to maintain her natural sense of humor, optimism and charm. She's also a lovely look at how there are some magical, strong, independent women in Middle Eastern folklore ! MFi controllers work stunningly, although the weapon select cursor is sometimes invisible, and gamepad customization would be nice. Way Forward, bravo for keeping this tremendous port updated and working. It's only timeless if we keep it.

Shantae risky’s revenge 10/10 😆
This game was the best from start to end I enjoyed every part of it and would like to see Shantae pirate’s curse on the App Store. The best parts of this game were the bosses, challenging foes that guard the magic seals, that was interesting. The charming characters from head to toe are magnificent and the plot was one of the best ones I have ever played. Wayforward thanks for this game and I will play this again anytime. Without a doubt this game made the best time playing than all of the others

Great but a bug has me stuck
I really like the game and I would recommend it, but I ran into a bug at the Hypno barons place at that puzzle where you have to have two of those eye things looking down while the other two have to be looking up, I completed the puzzle but I ran into a bug where the door won’t open, I don’t know if it’s different for player to player since I was using a walk-through as I was really new, but I’m really confused as to why the door is bugging. I’ve tried everything I can to fix it but nothings working

The Best Mobile Game
The platforming is amazing. It's so elaborate that I'v gotten lost a few times. There's exploring to be done. Lots of it. I'v currently already spent 12 hours and 18 minutes on it and I'm still not finished. The NPCs say funny things that change every time the story advances. The animation and music is all very nice. If I had one complaint, it would be that I wish it would be even bigger, but I guess I'm asking for too much. This is by far my favorite mobile game ever.

Hi wayforward once again (am a HUGE fan I even want to work there some time) and so Shantae is my favorite series I can’t stop playing,watching and listing to the music of Shantae I just wish that all the games where on iOS for $2.00 includes Shantae,Shantae and the pirates curse and half genie hero I just can’t stop Shantae I don’t want it to end and mabe in a few years I’ll help you and join your company,wayforward technology’s inc.

Started crashing after iOS update
I love this game I completed this game on the DSiWare version on the 3DS and I got the iOS version in 2021 when I updated my iPhone to iOS 16 it was working until I updated my iPhone today and now the game started crashing whenever I open the app. Can you update the app so then it won’t crash on the newer iOS software?

4.5 stars minus 1/2 star due to ratings limitations
I love this game. It's refreshingly retro, difficult but not punishing, got a quirky story, the controls are relatively easy and consistent, though once in a while it's a little to easy to hit the wrong one. My biggest complaint is it's lack of volume controls. It isn't a game breaker but it's always so much better not to have to mess with device wide settings every time you start a game.
