It is a fun strategy game, but…
The game forces you to watch advertisement videos from time to time. Otherwise, it is overall a fun game to sink your time into. Fortunately, the videos can be skipped after five seconds, but these ads are little too invasive for me, and as result, I am quitting after almost two hours of play.
If the advertisement videos don’t bother you and you’re looking for simple tactics strategy mixed in with economy management and minor city development, this game is for you! The overworld map and army group(s) are similar to Total War: Shogun II, but the combat is styled after tactics gameplay and played on a multi-hexagonal field.
The game is free but offers premium purchases for those who would like access extra content, such as bonus resources and premium units. I don’t blame them for their choice of having ads played in game though since it is a free game of surprising quality!

What an unexpected surprise!
(I wish Apple would not let customer ONLY give Star rating w/o qualifying text. As many of us know, customer’s with rate an app poorly for some pretty ridiculous reasons. It would help other customers in deciding whether to get the app.)
I have no idea how I missed SE:HC! I’m still just getting into the SE:HC. The graphic quality is very good. Configurability is adequate. Camera’s zoom range is very good (many developers blow on this feature). The one thing lacking, so far, is the ability to rotate the camera’s perspective to more easily see behind game object’s. It’s not bad. It would just be better. Everything is laid out logically. Adequate game assistance. In game ads are infrequent, so far iOS game related, and before I paid the 99 cents to turn ads off, never appeared during game play. I was afraid turning ads off would stopped voluntary ad watching to get free(real money wise) gold but it didn’t. You just see a small, discrete icon in the very bottom left of the screen. Intelligently done I am released to say.
So far this looks like a good game. I’ll update this review after I’ve played it more but, for my tastes, looks very promising.

Great game but…
It’s a great game and it’s something I’ve been looking for but the problem I have with it that the campaign lacks depth, the ai should have a difficulty setting because it’s to easy and my main thing is the honor, like the max honor is capped at 100 but when you go over that in the amount of territory you have. you start having rebellion percentages going up (meaning less taxes) and that’s good and all but when I gain more territory say for example a mine. If I get another mine I end up losing more gold then I got from the previous turn even when upgraded to the max because I have to lower my tax income even more just to not get my building destroyed losing even more money. 4.5 stars if I could

Great game, before you figure out how to abuse AI
Game is well made, with many systems playing into the campaign: building, upgrades, armies, fighting, recruitment, etc. the problem is that some of these (for example, fighting) have glaring problems once you play the game enough. AI isn’t the best and some game mechanics are very basic (although they are still present, which is a big deal) overall amazing for a free game and I would rate it 4.5 if I could.

Excellent Strategy Game!
Like a previous review said, this is a hidden gem. It reminds me of Nobunaga’s Ambition Iron Triangle, except it takes out all the province micro management aspects that made the game so arduous after you control a dozen provinces. What made me raise my eyebrows was the tactical details of attacking castles and terraced forts- ghe multi-level nature aspect of tactical game play is rare. The designers (surprisingly Europeans, not Japanese), if they want to improve this game, is to enhance these kinds of terrain aspects in combat, AND to make this game somehow multi-player. I’m excited to support this game, and I plan to buy their $7.99 deluxe unit pack when it goes on sale!

I wish that we could be any faction we want but can change it from easy to medium to hard to ultra. Just a little thing that could make a difference
Also, this would literally be the best thing ever if the alliance’s would help you in battle (for some gold of course) like you could have an alliance with of the factions and when you fight you could pay your ally to get some troops. Hopefully they are AI controlled so it would be cool. Thing is a big dream of mine so please make this a feature. LOVING THE GAME BTW❤️❤️❤️

A amazing game with one glaring issue
I really enjoy this game. There is very little strategy games on the App Store that are as good as this game. But there is one major issue, if you buy premium units and then clear your progress so you can play as a clan again, it will render your purchase invalid. I paid 8 dollars for the premium unit pack and when I reset my save it said that I needed to re-buy the premium units. It’s a good game, but once you complete a campaign as a clan you cannot really go back and do it again unless you want to lose all of your progress and purchases.

A real shame
Such a shame. I would have given this game more stars because I was really enjoying it. But then I paid money to access the gold in the vault and didn’t get access.
When I tried to contact them via the support link on this page I got a mail daemon notice : mail undelivered , not a valid email address. I don’t see any other way to contact customer service from within the game so I guess I will not be giving them any more money. Pity because it’s one of the few games I would pay into. Shame

Great game but.. (please read)
When I first downloaded this game about 2 months ago it was very nice. Very great for a free mobile game. I really love it but there is one thing I wish that the developers would add,
Multiplayer mode. The game would be a lot more fun with multiplayer mode I also wish to play this game with my friends

Shoguns Empire
Great game, nice graphics. Quite a lot of detail without being tedious. Very addicting. The only one complaint I have and it’s major, is when you spend money to unlock premium units, they are never really unlocked. You still have to get to port level 5 or stables level 4 or something. But all the premium units you just bought for $8.00, are still inaccessible. That, I thought was a blatant misrepresentation. Otherwise, 5 stars.
