[How to use tune simply and accurately?]
- Enter the Tuner app.
- Click the left top button (Violin / Viola / Cello) to select your instrument.
- Click the string to be tuned.
- Play the corresponding open string.
- Check the indicator, follow the text instruction and tune the string.
Tips: If there are fine-tuning screws on your instrument, when the indicator is not close to sides (no large offset), then you can use fine-tuning to adjust the string.

THIS IS AMAZING
So I don’t have a tuner but I downloaded this app and my violin is perfectly in tune because the strings were all out but since I use this app it has been in tune and I can really start playing more and I’ve actually gotten pretty good at the violin so thank you so much BUT with my A string it does sound a little bit of tune and every time I try to use the app it says that it’s in tune but when my friend goes to tune it for fun its not tune in actually a slight high and she is professional violin tuner a I just can’t see her all the time because of quarantine but overall it’s really good and I recommend this app

Wonderful app!
I am a strings teacher at a private school and I love that I can share this app with parents! One of the biggest challenges we have as strings teachers in a school setting is how to help parents and students tune their instruments at home. More conventional tuners show the pitch, but students and parents who are new to stringed instruments cannot recognize when a string is more than one whole tone (or even a half tone) out of tune, let alone in what direction (flat or sharp) so those tuners are useless if the person tuning does not know when the string in question needs to be adjusted up or down to go to the right pitch, specifically the right pitch IN THE RIGHT OCTAVE. Simply Tuner does this very clearly visually, and by locking into the specific string also avoids the issue of going to the wrong octave. This app gets five starts from me and all the parents I’ve shared it with!

This Helps A Lot!!!
During this Pandemic, you can’t really go to go to your teacher or person who normally tunes your violin/viola/cello. Me who’s WAS in this situation downloaded this app and this really helps!!! If I need to tune my violin this app is always there (unless my phone died). Sadly this doesn’t work with Bass/Double Bass, so Simply Tuner, please add a Bass/Double Bass for those string players. This also helps with beginners for now and also gives them tuning experience and they can use this when ever who normally does it for them isn’t around. The other downside is that you will want to rely on it too much because what if your phone/iPad died and that person who tunes your instrument isn’t around, then that’s a problem. But ending in a high note, this really helps you!!! 😁

Broke my E String
I needed to tune my violin, and as I was unsure how to do this myself, I decided to download an app to help me. This app seemed decent, it looked nice and had good reviews, so I took a chance on this one. It can’t be too hard to get tuning a violin right, can it? I opened the app, and got to tuning. Tuning the a string went just fine, and I moved on to my e string. I got it pretty tight, but it still said my e string pitch was very low, and that I should keep tightening the string. As I’m no expert on tuning violins, I decided to trust the app. I go to tighten a bit more, then snap! My string breaks. The strings were in good shape as I had just bought my violin new, so the string did not break because it was worn and was gonna break sometime soon. It broke because I was told to keep tightening it, when apparently it had already reached a good tension. Now I’m out a fair amount of money as I will have to buy a new string or strings. That’s why I’m giving this app 1 star.

I’m in the eighth grade and last year was my 5th year playing the violin and I did virtual learning for school, so that also meant I took virtual violin class. Normally before COVID happened my Violin teacher would tune my violin for me, but since I played the violin virtually I didn’t have him in person so I had to find a way to tune my violin at home. And I couldn’t have asked my parents because they would have broken it. So my violin instructor told me about this app and it is literally amazing I play the violin everyday and this app makes it so much more easier than calling my violin instructor so that he sit on FaceTime with me for at least a good 15-25 minutes just to tune my violin.

Using this app is enjoyable - it gets the job done and makes it fun and easy, even for me as a total newcomer to string instruments.
User tip for Violin: we’ve found that tuning goes *immensely* faster and is done way more accurately IF: we play each open string with the bow (instead of plucking the string). We started out with plucking and that worked alright. But it was inconsistent. Switching to playing the open string with the bow, we can tune in about 1/4 of the time and it seems more accurate, too 🙌

Went past my expectations, worked very well!
I’m a beginner violist, and I needed to play a song for a homework assignment that was due tomorrow. Unfortunately my entire viola was out of tune, my A string sounded more like a demonic cry than a musical note.
Downloading this app was a last resort for me at first, other apps I tried were crappy and left my viola ruined after using them. However, when I tried simply tuner, it tuned my instrument without problems!
Instructions very clear, really came in handy and I’ll probably tell my teacher to recommend the app.

It’s Pretty Good!
I wrote another review before this and I was really mad when I wrote it because there was a glitch and a couple other things but I’m so sorry. It’s a really good tuner app. It’s super easy to use, too. I recommend getting it. I was also mad because I don’t like being called a begginer. I workee hard on my violin 🎻. If you’re reading this, don’t let what other people say bring you down. It only matters what you think, not what other people think. Bring your self up into the clouds! There’s no limit! Recommend this for beginners
I’m a beginner in playing my violin and my teacher always tuned my violin. Since the whole pandemic happened I was never able to learn how to tune I tried but I couldn’t. I then found out my teacher left my school and I had to figure out how to tune my violin. I can across this app and decided to try it out. I found this really helpful and I’ve been using this app for at least 3 months already. I really recommend this to people who are beginners in playing the violin and for the people who don’t know how to tune.

Works pretty well
I looked at a lot of reviews that said they broke there strings using this. It is a little slow I had to wait for about 15 seconds for it to load but, it works well I hit my Violin weird and got the D string way out of tune but now it is in perfect tune! I think the people who broke there strings weren’t patient enough if you look at the little blue bar tighten the strings then pluck it and wait it will load and you can get your whole instrument in perfect tune!
