PvP Arena V2 and Awakening System is released!

Balance Updates

1. Awakening System added. Different Summon Awakenings consume the same type of material.
2. Awakening grants new Passive Skills and attribute enhancement to Summons. Passive Skills produce a series of effects during battles.
3. HP growth has been increased from +25 to +50 per level up.
4. Defense growth has been reduced from +10 to +5 per level up.
5. The player's initial ATK and its growth have been increased from 15 and +5 per level up to 30 and +10 per level up.
6. Shadowrealm: The HP and Break values of the Perilous Expedition monsters have been reduced.
7. Shadowrealm: The player entry level requirements for Tier 1 and 2 have been reduced from level 9 and 11 to level 6 and 9 respectively.
8. Booster: The "Desolate Blade" series of Boosters have been adjusted, with the "Desolate effect" changing from reducing 2.5 Defense points per layer to reducing 0.2%+2 Defense points. This makes the "Desolate effect" more significant when applied to elites and bosses.

What Apple Arcade does best
In the wake of playing games like mighty doom, a rouge like rpg that doesn’t make you gamble unknown amounts of money to pass levels is a breath of fresh air. This is one of the things Apple Arcade does best, offers you the types of games that often have predatory monetization methods… without them. So far I’m enjoying the progression, and although it seems simpler that the type of game I often gravitate towards, it really is enjoyable not having to question how much money I need to put down to MAYBE get something that MIGHT help me. For fans of games like Archero, Mighty Doom, or less similar games like Hades, you will find a lot to love here, all while not having to worry about yet another 5 fictional currencies to exchange your real world money for. Great job to the devs and Apple for making games like this available in a way that doesn’t manipulate money out of our wallets with weird Pavlovian monetization traps.

Decent game, needs more frequent updates
The core game is decent. All the shortcomings it has are fixable - developers need to turn the crank faster on updates. Minor updates once a month is too slow - the replayability of the content and new features like the Arena have balance problems and can be burned through way too rapidly with no updates.

The delightful aspect of this being in Apple Arcade is that it is not pay to win or pay for play/stamina mechanics. The lack of that may mean it is harder to fund more active development - but if you are putting out this kind of game - it needs a faster pace of content delivery to hold any sort of engagement.

A problem more active players have - When approaching a lot of fully upgraded items and summons - the value of chests goes down in terms of total tokens given. There seems to be a mechanic where it will eliminate giving you tokens for thing that are maxed out, and theoretically condense into other items yet to be completed, but the value for each chest is diminished- making finishing items very grindy

Happy for the update, now fix the controls
I’d glad to see this game finally get more levels, but the issue with the controls is still there. I don’t like that movement resets when using the bracelet. It leaves me stopped and vulnerable in the middle of moving and evading. Dashing some times goes in the direction the character is facing rather than the direction he’s moving, rolling me into combat rather than away from it. Dashing over water doesn’t always seem to work either. I thought it was because I was at an angle, but I was wrong. So it’s unclear what the issue is. Maybe it’s related to the previously mentioned issue of dashing the wrong way. The randomization of leveling up summons is not my favorite mechanism, but I can work with it. Not being able to properly dodge in a game that relies so heavily on it is bothersome. Overall, still a fun game.

Simple? Or not?
At first the gameplay feels very simple: the game autoattacks so your main jobs during fights are dodging and summoning. You do get to assemble the team of monsters you take with you. For me, the choices I made definitely affected whether I'd succeed or fail at a level.

Several things made gameplay more interesting to me. There are synergies between skills that add a lot of power. that And since you start each stage with no skills and the skills you can acquire are randomized, picking your skills to maximize synergies becomes pretty important. The levels are nice and short, though, so it's not a huge deal to restart the level and try for different skills. And like building your team, your skill set can be the difference between failing or winning a level. I enjoyed learning how different combinations work against different enemies.

Like someone else mentioned, the dash/dodge feature doesn't always work right: It often rolls me INTO enemies and damage zones even when I am aiming the other direction.

But overall, the complexity of choice made the game worth playing for me. Hopefully the next update will be soon!

Great Game But..
Very addictive it’s simple and easy to understand the mechanics and isn’t really very difficult which is a slight disappointment but one of the biggest problem with this game is the dashing over water there is many maps and a few boss fights that you must dash over water to reach the other side but you have to face a specific direction to dash inwards and outwards and it’s very stressful because it doesn’t register and you just dashing repeatedly against the water instead of dashing over it and this could kill you especially when multiple projectiles are coming at you.

Great game, a bit of balancing and new zones would be welcomed
While challenging in some places there is a clear dominance with Dodge shot + distract shot( the one where powerful arrows from dodge shot hone in). I don’t think it needs nerfed just that the other abilities get scaled up to that one as it is an absolute blast getting the crits plus zipping around. The others need to bring that same level of fun.

Have one focused on control, knifes snare, DOT, push back, move enemies.
Or have other weapons than knives that make use of the multiple shot, scatter shots

Update for the Update
Here are some updated notes for the newest update adding the Inferno Peak stage:
1. The roll seems like it might have gotten a hot fix. While playing the new stage, the enemies seemed to be moved to either side of the roll a bit more. 2. New stage has some bugs that I'm currently replicating. The first observed, that projectiles from the enemies ignore the shield from Grey Face, was not able to be replicated. The maps for the new stage also don't seem as crowded with static entities that cause the player to get stuck on during a roll. There are still some spots where the collision for these items and the edge of the maps is a little bit jagged, but also seems like this may have been tweaked a bit. Adding a star while testing further.

EA game with out the logo
Great game, fun to play, but currently the game isn’t complete. So instead you get a more than a beta but all in all an incomplete game. If the game developers waited and released the full game all at once, or even hinted that there are coming updates that are not yet ready it would have been a high review. Simply put I enjoy this style of games and it is was fun. But it became frustrating once I realized I didn’t have enough stars to progress the game. So instead of trying to keep the story going it’s set to repeat with my character maxed out at a meager level 12. Could have easily been a five star game if it was released with all its content, but on that terrible disappointment I give it a 2.
