Description

5K RUN is the easiest way to get you from couch potato to 5k. Our training plan will help you keep motivated and give your best in every workout. Don't give up, you can do it!

5K PLAN
The training plan is design to help you keep motivated. It will let you know when you need to take a break and when it's time for another run.
Run whenever you want, you don't need to set up a schedule of specific days for running, we all have busy days, or it's raining outside, or we're just tired. That's why our training plan adapts to you, giving you a time window
to complete your workouts. Take your training to the next level!

VOICE TRAINER
During the runs, listen to your music and the voice trainier will tell you when it's time for you to run or walk.

Set your goal and work to get there in a healthy way.

HEALTHKIT INTEGRATION
Run 5K integrates nicely with HealthKit, meaning that all your workout data will be available for you inside Run 5K and the Apple Health App. On top of that, all the races you save using Run 5K will contribute to filling the Activity rings on your Apple Watch. Isn't that cool?

Lady_MC,
A few issues...
I really liked the set up for this app, simple and encourages rest between sessions but also doesn’t let you go beyond a few days before your next or it sets you back a session. Awesome. Except two days ago on my run I wanted to restart a minute or two in because I had started the program but wasn’t ready... it told me better luck next time and set me back a session! Then today, I had to run on the treadmill, which I don’t normally do and it gave me the cues for about 20 min - then when I looked at it I realized it thought I had run 0 miles and I cannot find a way to manually change this. Told me better luck next time at the end of this run as well! I’m never going to get anywhere at this rate!
Stretchdrummer,
Frustrated...
Likes: easy to use interface, voice prompts during run mean you don’t have to be looking at your phone, and intervals slowly build distance and running stamina.

Dislikes: mileage pace is very badly off - not even close, cannot see what the next, exact distance is or what the intervals are until you start that specific leg of training.

This could be a good useful app for an amateur runner like myself, but it is has such frustrations that I am looking for another app.
Drchaos20,
Gets u going, but eventually fails
I like the motivation it gives me, and I do run every other day. I did buy it and new the cost before I downloaded it. But im disappointed in the later stages. particularly the 1.9 mile, it never switched off of run! How is this gradual plan going to inch me up to a 5k when all of a sudden it expects me to run 2 miles with no break. What’s more, you cannot repeat stages, if you feel you’re not ready to advance. And you can’t restart a stage...say if your run gets interrupted. The description of the pace in each stage is poor, so often you don’t know what to expect. And...the estimate it gives of you’re running pace is way off. I thought I was killing it....but no. I’d look for a different app if I was you.
El-Mian,
Would be great with manual overrides
I love the simple user interface and analytics after a run. I especially love the map. However, the app tries to exert too much control without flexibility. You cannot start a run until you’ve waited exactly 24 hours. I like to run at night. So tonight I started my run a little on the late side. Now I’m locked in to running this late because it won’t let me start until a full 24 hours have passed! Also I am switching from another app and would have liked to be able to see what each training day entails and choose where to start.

I like the way it is designed and it gives it a fun video game feel, but there needs to be a way to override the strict settings to make this app functional.
Sshussett,
Good, but not good
I was using this regularly for a few weeks and it did everything I hoped for. But then I had a serious health issue and I had to stop for over a month. But I can't start over! So you buy this thing and you can only use it once? What if I were a fair weather runner - I couldn't use it to build up to 5K every year! Perhaps there is a way to reset it to the original setting. Unfortunately customer service is non existent. I've used the app to email twice, without a reply. I like it but I don't.
badhairday,
Simple app - lacks quality
I liked the simplicity of the app and that it tracks your distance and calculates your pace.

I also like that there is no ongoing subscription needed to use the app.

Problem is it would always calculate 6 minute miles when I’m actually running 10mm.

I unfortunately lost a few runs because I didn’t hit the save button.

When I completed the program, it still sends me notifications to continue running even though there is nothing left in my training program.

Not that I need it, but I was expecting a message or something to happen or change after completing the program but the app does and says nothing.

Additionally the writing needs to be proofed for spelling and grammar.
Caviar_Goddess,
I’m trying.
I’ve deleted and redownloaded this app THREE times. Because stage two will not show COMPLETED. I CANT MOVE FORWARD. I literally was about to spend my money on purchasing the app but opted out since I can’t make it past the first three stages. It was simple at first. I loved it. But I can’t progress at all and honestly that’s sad.

But want to know what’s sadder, I TRIED TO EMAIL YOU GUYS... And your email section doesn’t have a “send” button. So I went to email it regularly just to wake up to a message this morning saying the email DOES NOT EXIST.... which brought me here... to leave a review....
MantleB,
Only worked well for first run
The first set’s pacing and intervals conveyed an understanding of physical challenges to those moving “from couch to 5k”. There was a good mix of walking and running to rest then challenge. The very next set however started well but then became solely running. I don’t know if having a music app also active caused interference with the running app but if it did that is a problem. All i know is I can’t depend on this app to create reasonable pacing as I build up my strength and stamina.
leila931,
Meh. Not ideal.
Simple, clean design, has option to have a voice interrupt music to give you updates.
Will not work for treadmill, as it tracks location as the only option to complete the workout. If you go more than 3 days between workouts, it sets you back a workout- if you don't complete a workout, it sets you back a workout. No option to edit anything- that's why I'm deleting it- I run 3 days a week, sometimes MWF but usually TWR- I don't like having to adjust my running schedule just bc my app will reset a bit. Pretty frustrating, especially bc I like how clean this app looks. Oh well.
Hnebel,
Support email invalid
I started using this app today because it works with Apple Watch. However, there is no sound. I verified that both my phone (in my pocket) and the watch had the volume all the way up. So without staring at my phone and watch to know when to run and walk there is no way of knowing. Second problem is the support email given IN THE APP is invalid. I attempted to email them to inquire about the sound issue and the email was returned back to me as an invalid email address. Guess I’ll be finding a different app to use.
