Description

Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? In 3 workouts of 30 minutes or less per week, N2R will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25 minutes straight.

None to Run is a gradual running plan designed for people like you.

Here's how the N2R differs from most beginner plans:

• Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace. This makes running more enjoyable.
• Unlike most beginner plans, N2R Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
• Progresses conservatively to enhance enjoyment and decrease the chances of getting injured.

If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.

The None to Run 12-Week Plan will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25-minutes straight.

Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they've always wanted to be. It's your turn.

N2R FEEDBACK:

"A doable program to get running, targeted for absolute beginners as well as those returning to running after injury/time away."

"A gentle, safe way to become a runner."

"A beginning running program, designed to build consistency and keep you from being injured. By the end of 12-weeks, you're running 25-minutes straight."

"Perfect program to ease you into training."

"Actually works for true beginners, those of us who have never been able to run and always hated it."

The N2R app provides the best experience to successfully follow and complete the 12-Week None to Run plan.

mikebonnie,
Finished the Non to Run.
I wanted to complete this program before I did a review. First off. I am a 57 year old lady who has several children. Over the year I let myself creep up to over 240 lb. In sept. of 2022 I decided to get my health in order and started just walking and eating clean. Then we ran across this program and started using it in November. It took 14 weeks to finish. I missed a couple days because of a soar foot then leg. Be careful and don’t go to fast. When I first started I wouldn’t stop when the app stop. I kept walking to complete a 5 k. I learned to just stop and follow the program. By The time I hit the week where you run Five minutes and walk two I was able to do it injury free. By the time I hit the next week; the 20 minute run, I was able to run the entire 20 minutes. It was hard but doable. I had to pace myself slow so I could, but it was doable. By the time I hit week 12 day 3. I could really tell I had accomplished something. It was very doable and even enjoyable. This is a hard thing but very doable. Do the strength training as you will need it to accomplish this. Be faithful and put it in first priority. I feel so so much stronger and my stamina is more than I think I have ever had. This program works. I will be starting the race to 5k now.
Gwen B 515,
Excellent program and App!
I have been wanting to get back into running for a long time. This program and app are perfect to work back up mileage and endurance. So much better than previous programs I’ve tried. Easy to get into and love the layout of the app with the set workouts for each week! The app is great works well with my audiobooks playing while still giving me the walk run prompts. Both Mark the creator and Jeff the developer were very quick to answer questions I had when I couldn’t get something on my Apple Watch to work right. Problem was user error and they figured it out within an hour and late at night. Thanks guys for your quick response and help. Look forward to continuing to build on my runs. The price is well worth the setup within the app for intervals, provides motivation to click off each workout and tracks everything in one place vs multiple apps to see progress following the program. Worth every penny!
Jhern418,
Great app two*** flaws!(UPDATED)
The flaw is this: The Indoor treadmill distance measuring is based on your arm swing. This results in an error between .1-.2 (one or two tenths of a mile). Since there is no accurate way to measure foot speed through your arm, it is approximate. The problem arises when your arm stops moving to adjust headphones, wipe sweat, anything that stops or changes arm swing. I used access to a biomed engineering lab to measure treadmill distance and speed, foot speed and arm swing speed in a high speed camera and measuring equipment(on body and shoes). The treadmill was +.02 miles out of sync with the baseline and the app/watch tracking was between -.1 and -.23 on several runs where arm motion was not stopped for anything. Conclusion: app needs to be editable for distance ran on indoor treadmill to marry the errors and find the average for best results of differences and become a better approximation. If you have long arms, your 6mph pace will become a 5.25mph pace unless you keep arms tight and punch as if you are hitting a speed bag. New flaw is probably updated IoS caused: watch app stopped approx halfway-2/3 through. Phone tracked map but distance showed only up to where watch app stopped .8 miles short of total distance.
Owlove1013,
Absolutely LOVE this program!!!!!
I’m a brand new runner, 17 yo, and have always wanted to be able to run but in the past I’ve done too much too fast and got injured. This program is great for beginning runners because it helps you pace yourself, and the podcasts are super helpful and actually worth your time!! With the podcasts I’ve learned to be patient with myself and not give myself too high expectations, I’ve learned what type of pain is normal/okay and what pain to watch out for. Also the first runs are so fun that I felt amazing afterwards. This has helped me a lot during quarantine because running is boosting my mood and my mental health, and the program works so well that I haven’t gotten injured and stuck inside! And the program is free!!!! It doesn’t ask you to upgrade and pay after the first couple runs!! Which gets sooo annoying. It gives you the entire 12 wk program for free right off the bat so you know what to expect which I love. Thank you for sharing this program!!
Kshaewert,
Best beginner app by far
I started using this app when I married into a family that runs 5k’s (poor research on my part I suppose). Mark really gives you all the information you need, including how many times a week to run went to rest, stretches and strength, training exercises, etc. etc. Feel free to sign up for the newsletters since there’s plenty of information in there as well. I went from not being able to run for a whole minute to now I can run for a whole 5K. and if you want to continue to run a little further or get a little faster, he has additional programs built into the app to help you do more if you choose to. He also has a free run option where you can make your own circuits or just run however, you want. The app is constantly being improved and I’ve been a subscriber to the paid version for years now. Highly recommend if you’re not a runner at all.
sebstweets,
Start Running!!!
The None 2 Run app is amazing! I used another popular program 10 years ago that worked me up to running a 5K but afterwards when I continued to make running a part of regular exercise I was plagued with injuries. So I came to the conclusion I was not a runner. So this past year I came across the N2R program and decided to give it a try. It’s great because it is designed to get you running at a pace that is comfortable for you.
When used with your phone and/ or your watch it gives you prompts of when to walk and when to run and also an encouraging phrase at the end. The end goal is to be able to run for 25 minutes straight regardless of distance. You can do this at your own pace and even repeat weeks if you need to. There is also a social media group with people going through the same program as you for support and encouragement. I am now slowly working through the N2R 5K program.
Leela Biswas,
Grateful for N2R
Update a year later: I’ve lost 30 lbs and changed my life. Over the course of a year, I completed None2Run’s first two programs (None2Run and Run to Race 5K) - I took a break in fall 2020 when I returned to work in person, but, with the beautifully designed training programs, I was able to pick it up again in the spring of 2021. I ran my first 5K a few months ago - something I never thought I could do! Now I’m in the third program of N2R, which is Run to Race 10K. I am fitter, stronger, and happier - all because of N2R.

If you’re considering subscribing to the app, know that the technical support and customer service are fantastic. When there’s an issue, I email support and I always get a real response from Jeff - surprisingly, he actually fixes the issue in the app and updates it! I’ve never had that kind of customer service with other, more expensive app subscriptions.

Original review in spring 2020:
None to run has been incredible. I tried couch to 5k several times in the past and always failed. Now, I’m a month into None2Run. The strength component and the optimized interval schedule are the biggest advantages of N2R. I look forward to running every other day and I haven’t developed shin splints (as I did with C25K)
Moebo4,
Excellent program and app
I was a new runner and recently finished the N2R program. I really like how the program is set up. It focuses more on time than on distance, which is great for getting you used to being on your feet! The strength exercises really do help and should not be skipped. I could tell a difference in my runs once I started consistently doing the strength exercises.

The customer service is also top notch. I started program before I got my Apple Watch, and I was having trouble getting my routes to show up. I emailed support, and by the next afternoon after several emails, Jeff had me back up and “running!” (It was my user error, but he very patiently and kindly walked me through the steps to take to fix it!). You will not be disappointed!!!! Go for it!!!
Beachmomto4,
You can be a runner!
Failed at couch to 5k plans? Don’t think you could ever be a runner? Think again! N2R is the best plan out there to get you off your couch and out the door. The plan itself is a gradual build up and focuses on time spent on your feet not distance and pace. The app has gentle reminders for half way through and 5 seconds left. And the confetti at the end of a completed workout is fun! I like that the plan also has strength and mobility exercises to do on your off days. I started my N2R journey in March 2020. I graduated the starter plan able to run for 25 minutes straight, then completed the Race to 5k plan shattering my goal of running a 5k under 40 minutes, and now I’m on the 10k plan. To think that 9 months ago, I couldn’t run for more than 1/2 a mile but now I can confidently run 3 miles is crazy. The app/plan works!
Pinion Pine Music,
This app took me far, with a bug or two
Overall great app. Let’s start with the fact that before this I had never ran in my life. Like I could run to play basketball or whatever but the act of running distances, never! I decided I was going to run a 5k as a work challenge. It was not easy BUT this app helped me prep for it very well. The audio prompts are great, the cadence of runs, body exercises/cross training and rest seemed good. I ended up running my race 10 weeks later and found myself passing people left and right. THEN I decided I wanted to run a 10k seven weeks later. I started the program and ended up placing 3rd in my age category at the race. Once again, was it hard? Yes. Did it help me get there in the most conducive way possible? YES!
I’ve recommended this app to multiple people.

*BUGS*
1. Make sure your phone is charged to at least 33%. I experienced major issues below this threshold including “forgetting” to announce intervals and gps disruptions.
2. This app doesn’t play well with other apps - I couldn’t run my Fitbit and N2R at the same time for tracking the run. Once again GPS disruptions. So as much as I wanted to record the race on N2R, I opted to use my Fitbit app on race days.
