MigrantFarmer,
Highly useful app
This app is great for tracking your workouts. I used to bring a pocket-sized notebook to the gym, then switched to taking notes on my phone. I’m glad I stumbled across this app, even if it’s years later than I wish I had.
There’s a built-in timer for rest periods, too, which may not seem like a big deal, but this allows you to set your timer and get back to lifting without having to switch apps between sets.
My minor gripe with the app is that with some workout programs, it asks for a donation after each session, even if you’ve already donated previously. I won’t remove a star for this, but I do think it’s something worth noting that might bother some lifters as they progress through any listed program.
Mr. E Smith,
Needs strong mobile/internet connection
The content is amazing, especially for a free app, however I’ve encountered issues with weight/reps/notes not saving when I do not have a stable internet connection. I’ll enter information, the app seemingly takes it, then it’ll throw a network error and delete the information I just entered. Without a good connection, I am unable to see the routine, as well, leaving me stranded in the gym waiting for it to reconnect. I like that it saves my information, but the fact that it’s ALWAYS looks for a good connection means the minute my gym’s wifi goes out, I’m stuck waiting. This turned my sub-hour gym trip into a 1.5 hour trip. Is there an offline mode or something similar?

Also, I am unable to see the coach’s notes at the beginning of each day/week. There’s an ellipses, which should mean the coach said more, but it seems I am unable to access whatever extra was said. I feel like I’m missing vital information for progression or understanding the routine better from the coach’s perspective.
Sickunt42069,
Great app for a while, until now. FIX THE BUGS
Had this app for a couple months, was perfect as is, no bugs, no issues. Tracked my workouts, did everything as it should have done, no complaints.

Until around late June 2023 or so. Must have been updated, with new features, which are somewhat cool, but introduced a lot of bugs and glitches. One the main ones is refusing to register that a workout has been completed. I would complete a workout, and then my next day is still the same workout I had just completed. The only way to move on from this bug is complete the new “fake” workout and then deleting it. Only then can I proceed with the next workout. It’s not impossible to do, but just annoying, and messes with the user experience significantly. This occurred multiple times, I hope I was the only one who experienced this because I do not wish the same experience on others who just want to start/end a workout.
GainzTrain420yolo,
Could be a game changer
I was so pumped when I saw this on Reddit. I’ve been using spreadsheets off Liftvault for years so when I saw GZCLP among others, I was so glad to ditch Sheets and use this instead. I opted for premium right away but ended up cancelling after a week because I felt I wasn’t getting added value. I am on iPhone 13 and I seem to run into bugs every session, after the latest update clicking the 3 dots on a workout sends me to a white screen and I have to force close the app; can’t add warm up sets or swap out for alternate exercise. For whatever reason overhead press doesn’t show your previous workout info, might be unique to the Candito program. The added warm up sets under premium is awesome, but paying for dark mode? Doesn’t seem worth it. There are free options on the App Store that offer graphs. Rest timer and plate calculator; again there are free options. I’d gladly pay $9.99/mo for this if those bugs were squashed and they added the ability to make your own programs.
Art Vanderleigh,
Good app overall with some bugs
I purchased a year on this app after trying out the free version. The app has a clean interface, a solid and growing collection of workouts, you can easily save your weights (although I wish it would save your rep count when you are doing the movement in a future workout), a new beta for writing your own templates which I think will be great. Issues that I’m experiencing include saved weights from previous weeks not showing in current workout, when I swap exercises and save it for future workouts, only about half of them save. I have to manually turn off timer every week for some movements as it won’t save after I’ve turned it off. Finally, it asks me for a rating every time I finish a workout. Since I’m on the paid version, there should be a way to shut this off. Overall I think the app is solid and hopefully will improve with updates.
Babygottank,
This Changed My Life
Growing up, I’ve always gotten bullied because of my weight. Fast forward to the pandemic, I’ve decided to make a change since I have a lot of time in my hands and I didn’t want to spend it all on games.

There were a lot of workout apps but I came across Boostcamp through a Reddit post and thought I would give it a try. I started with Greg Nuckol’s beginner program and progressively moved to other training programs. Fast forward 8 months, I’ve lost several pounds and feeling better than ever. I feel more confident about my body and have a more positive outlook on life. I greatly appreciate this app and its developers for making it very easy for me to start working out and stick to it. Thanks!!
MissMikl,
Yaaass!!
Short and sweet: a ton of strength training and fitness programs broken down for you in a very easy to digest weekly schedule.

Why I love it: So ya know the fitness/strength training programs you have been hearing about but when you read about how to get started there is so much to learn it feels like drinking from a fire hose? This app has all those and it breaks them down for you and gives you the programming in a very easy to digest way. Starting Strength was a program I have been wanting to get into but it felt like I had to learn a ton just to begin. This made it so easy! I am finally building my lifting foundation. I am stoked to move through this program and get into the many other programs.
Jeynkusxnk,
Great for weight lifting on your own
As a woman, weight lifting has always been very intimidating. I never even went near that area in the gym because I simply had no idea of what to do. I love this app because it really 1. breaks down all the steps for me, 2. provides a plan, and 3. shows each movement in a video. Since downloading this app, I have been using it to lift small free weights at home. It’s been a great substitute for the gym during the pandemic, and I hope that by the end of this pandemic, I can get enough confidence to use the weight lifting section at my gym. I recommend this app!

Feedback: It would be better to
show the videos up front instead of hiding it in the hyperlink!
jasontcrocker,
Best workout tracking app I’ve used!
I’ve gone through a bunch of apps to track workouts and I’ve landed on Boostcamp as my favorite! I specifically love that, when doing an exercise, the app shows me the sets, reps and weight I did the last time I did said exercise. Additionally, they have a great space to track not just my one rep PRs, but PRs for all rep ranges. I also have the ability to add my own exercise if it’s not in the library and track that exercise over a period of time. This app is amazing and the team is very open to learning from its users to continue to improve user experience!
6MomHTX,
Great workout app with some caveats
So, let me start by saying that I’m only on day 2 of using the app and it’s mostly great so far - but the donation nags are excessive. I made a donation before beginning my workout today and was prompted to do so again as soon as I clicked complete. Less than 30 minutes later… come on, seriously!

Other than that (which is actually a major enough annoyance in itself), I’d love to see the option to progress to the next superset after completing 1 round of the previous superset - basically circuit style.

If there’s a way to calm down the aggressive donation notifications, that would make this app amazing and any other improvements would be a cherry on top.
