Description

A music theory tool for beginner musicians, Circle of Fifths, Opus 1 is a pocket reference for analyzing, transposing, and composing music. This app focuses on major and relative minor scales and chord progressions.

For a more advanced version of Circle of Fifths, check out our Circle of Fifths, Opus 2 edition. Opus 2 explores musical modes often used in jazz and a variety of other musical styles.

FEATURES
• Interactive circle: rotate it or tap on a key to see its scale and circle chord progression.
• Play scales and chords out loud by tapping on the staves.
• Tap on individual chords to explore chord patterns.
• Includes both chord name and roman numeral notation.
• Choose from treble, bass, or alto clef.

Should cost less

This app is okay, but it is way over-priced. It is very simplistic. For example: There isn't an explanation of what the circle of fifths is or how beneficial it can be to the music student. It doesn't name the chords, which would be very helpful. It doesn't show any chord inversions. It doesn't have anywhere near as much information as I would expect from a $4.99 app. I have $1.99 apps that have more information.

I like it, a little pricey

I just wanted an app to study the Circle Of Fifths, and to use as a future reference. This app gives me that, but it gives it in a nicely designed and functioning package. As for cost, I feel it’s a bit much for an app as simple as this.

Doesn't state inversion

Uses inverted chords but does not notate the inversion, also does not list the notes present in each chord. In view of it lacking those features, this app is useful but definitely overpriced for what it delivers.

Too expensive for what you get

Nice app for a circle of fifths reference- but sincerely way too expensive for what little you get with the app. Maybe if there was more included? As of right now - not worth the full $5?

Great app for learning scales!

This app has a great layout and is convenient when you forget your scale book. :)
