Description

Collect discs and break bricks! See how far you can go without letting a brick hit the red line! It's harder than it looks...

This brick breaker is simple, clean, aesthetic, and fun! I work hard to make sure my games are enjoyable and ethically monetized. Therefore, you will find no ads in my game, nor will you find any luck-based purchases, consumable purchases, or play limits. I hope you enjoy this game and compete with your family and friends to see who can get the highest score!

Purchase the Deluxe Expansion to add new power-ups, board sizes, and an additional power-up storage slot during gameplay! It is a one-time purchase, and very worth it!

Version history

2.2
2023-03-06
- Added a new theme to the theme store: "Celestial"
- Updated some of the theme store preview images to better represent the various themes
- Removed the previously-useless board size options for those who have not yet purchased the Deluxe Expansion, and replaced it with a button to direct users to purchase the Deluxe Expansion

Fixed the following bugs:
- Fixed an issue where the wrong preview image could appear for some themes
- Fixed an issue where the default theme could appear as a purchase theme in the theme store
2.1
2022-10-18
This 2.1 update brings adjustments to the difficulty curve of the game. There will be less of an overt difficulty wall around 150, and there will be more variance of difficulty throughout the games you play. Additionally, the frequency of power-ups has been increased slightly.

Additionally, the theme store has been updated to allow users to preview themes before purchasing them.
2.0.1
2022-06-11
- Added the option to "minimize haptics", which makes it so that haptics only play for a new turn and other important actions
- Added the option to “disable animations”, which makes it so that all brick, power-up, and coin collision and particle animations do not occur.
- Made it so that aiming past the acceptable angle no longer causes the angle to become less shallow
- Fixed an odd issue where switching from one board size to another, where one board size's score is a higher number of digits than the other, causes the board frame to not render the correct color
- Made it so users will know if a theme which they have not yet seen is in the shop that day
- Changed the daily shop selection algorithm to ensure a certain number of cheaper themes are available (assuming they haven't been bought already)
- Changed the daily shop selection algorithm to not include additional themes if the ones intended to be listed have already been purchased
- Adjusted the rate of power-up distribution to create a more consistent frequency of occurrence across different levels.
- Added new “Arcade” themes
- Updated the "Seasons" and "Sunset" themes to improve the environment aesthetics
2.0

Disc Brick has been updated to version 2.0! The entire game has been re-built from the ground up. Gameplay has been refined, performance has been improved, aesthetics have been reworked, and a number of additional features have been added.

A new, purchasable "Deluxe Game Expansion" brings new additions to the game, including new power-ups, different board sizes, and one additional power-up slot during gameplay! Some new themes have also been added.

1.2.4
2020-06-07
First off, I would like to thank everyone who occasionally keeps in contact with me about the game. It means a lot to me that people are willing to support such a simple game like this—and my first game, no less. I love to be able to bring what I consider monetarily ethical games to the mobile world that don't rely on addictive practices and compulsive purchasing models. I love getting feedback, and I love seeing the pictures of high scores you are getting. Thank you so much! I am always surprised to see how many people are able to achieve scores of 200 or higher. I didn't really expect that when I made the game. Therefore, I'm trying to adjust the "late game" element to appease as many players as possible. After reviewing some feedback on the recent change of the difficult curve of the post-200 game, I've gone ahead and moved those adjustments back to level 300. Along with this, other minor adjustments have made the difficult curve more gradual and smooth, but all of these changes only apply to the late game. Again, thank you for the feedback and support—it means a lot. Please keep your eyes open, because I am working on other small games that will be distributed in the coming months.
1.2.3
2020-06-04
Adjusted the difficulty curve in two ways requested by helpful user feedback: (1) 2x power-ups start showing up earlier, and (2) the post-200 game becomes increasingly more challenging, as to prevent indefinite gameplay for the rare few that manage to make it that far.
1.2.1
2020-03-03
Adjusted power-up distribution so that the Spray power-up will cease to appear once the 2x power-up starts appearing. This prevents players from feeling like they're being punished for reserving power-ups.
1.2
2020-02-25
This update includes one new power-up and one new theme.

New Power-up: Spray—Spread your discs around to clear out a cluttered game board! Use this power-up to send your discs in a variety of directions around your aim line.

New Theme: Sunset—This beautiful, bright theme is a modern representation of colors in the sunset. It is clean and attractive, focusing primarily on warm colors.
1.1
2020-01-15
This update adds a few small but highly-requested features and quality-of-life improvements:
- Users can now mute the game audio via the in-game menu.
- Clearing the board of all bricks now rewards you with a bonus disc! This only happens if the turn starts with 3 or more bricks on the board.
- When collecting discs, the board will display the number in a "+1" fashion.
1.0.2
2019-09-18
Adjusted some elements of the game, such as making the double-power-up item not show up sequentially. Also, reduced the file size of the app.
1.0.1
2019-09-01
Some small adjustments were made to the aiming mechanism. Specifically, the amount of swiping movement required to initialize aiming is decreased by 50%, and once the player has initialize aiming, the orientation of aiming (whether it is pull-forward or pull-back) is locked for that aim, unless the user moves to cancel their movement.

Super fun & satisfying
V2.1: There was an update released a few months ago that fixed the difficulty towards the upper 100's and made this a blast to play again. This is my favorite game to pass the time!
=============================
V2: Still a great way to pass some time, but feels more challenging, and it's not quite as fun starting back at 1 when you get to 100+. Can't quite put my finger on how it's different, but the physics seem to have changed a bit, making it harder to progress after you hit 150 or so. Haptics are a little over the top, but easy enough to turn off. ============================= V1: Really simple and fun game that is very satisfying when you reach higher levels and clear out a crowded screen. Would love to see some kind of stage clearing / tiered levels (every 20?) so I can start a new game without having to go all the way back to 1. I've been able to get all the way up to 227 and it's a little daunting to try and beat that high score when starting back at 0.
Uegwjjwkajsgu,
Been addicted to this game
Saw this game after the creator posted it on Reddit and I love it. I’ve spent wayyyy to much time on this game for my own good (just hit 174). It gets 4 stars due to a few simple things that should be changed. The main one is that the 2x power ups should be stackable, as I find almost no reason to save them after another one shows up on the board. The second thing is that the 2x power ups should be more consistent. Sometimes I’ll be playing and they will show up twice in a short period of time when i don’t even need them, and then other times I will have gone through 30-40 before finding them. This brings me to my last point, which is the predictably. After playing this game for about a month at least 2 hours a day, I can name exactly when the big waves of blocks come. There are ones ~ 30,50,68,88,114,135,150,180. I don’t think i should be able to say that. One more thing, there is this feature where two blocks that are next to each other can be hit at the same time. I’ve tried mastering the skill of consistently hitting them, but it is always a gamble. I can’t tell if this is a bug or a feature, but IMO it either needs to be turned off or given a larger margin of error so it can be used as a real strategy instead of a gamble.

Great game, could use a few minor improvements
After spending a couple days with this game, I love it. A free game with no ads is almost impossible to come by these days, and it is incredibly satisfying to play. I’ve played this with people nearby and they always stop what they’re doing to watch, because this game is that exciting to watch. However, a few ideas to make this game better, most are nitpicks.
1.) Achievement system: So players can have something to strive toward or feel satisfaction for clearing a while screen.
2.) Mute button: Add an option to turn off the sound in the game, I enjoy listening to music and I don’t like the clicking sounds of the game while I listen.
3.) Steep difficulty spike: At around round 50, this game fills your screen with blocks. I’d love to be able to go to triple digits, but once you get to 50, the game just about stops you from going further.
Amazing game, I would highly recommend anyone download and play. Play this game as soon as you can.
Dudedudemcdude,
Ton of fun, difficulty spike leads to playing slog over and over
Amazingly fun game. I’ve got double digit hours in the last week since installing it. Getting a bunch of discs stuff bouncing around is so rewarding. And the extra themes are 100% worth the dollar a piece.

The only downside is the difficulty doesn’t scale well. So you spend most of your time playing to super slog/slow levels over and over to get back to where it’s really exciting. I’m not sure what the fix is, but I know that getting one extra disc per board clear isn’t it. That happens so rarely, and when you’re in the hard levels with a board full of 70+ point blocks, what good is 3 extra discs?
jkylesimmons,
So so good.
I really never play games on my phone. Any game I usually download gets deleted after a few days. I randomly saw this game posted somewhere on reddit it think and decided to download it. I have played it every single day. It’s perfect to pass even the smallest bit of time because you can close the app and open it again an hour later and it kicks right back up. I hope it stays this way. The game is also confidently simple. There’s not a ton of bells and whistles, but that’s because it really doesn’t need it. It’s simple in what it does but it does it really well. I’ve definitely recommended it to my friends. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic Little Game
I found this linked on Reddit and really liked it right away. The tweaks have only made it better. It’s a fun little distraction that I can put down after a few tries, but keep coming back to it regularly. My 1.0 high score was 96 but 1.1 was 161. I do have a couple suggestions going forward:

1. As of 1.1 the 2x power sometimes doesn’t come at all into the 50s or 60s and it gets overwhelming. A few times they bunched up and there’s no way to store more than 1.

2. The rounded edges sometimes slightly defy logic, especially when hitting between two. I get that it’s part of the challenge, but consider maybe another mode with bricks of varying roundness?

3. Other modes to consider would be adding bricks that don’t stay still. Or perhaps a time mode where bricks come constantly instead of by shot. Lastly (and not to get too deep into powerups) a brick that locks the bottom border for a short time? To let the discs go back up a 2nd time? Just brainstorming.
Shadows Wi g324,
The game is definitely fun and simple and looks smooth
The game is fun and very easy to understand I personally enjoy it a lot as something to turn to when I’m bored and I don’t want to spend too much battery or I have no service and I just want to focus on something, my only gripes are that the frenzy fire ability isn’t really all too useful in what I’ve played so far and that there is no leaderboard or ranking, I have made it to round 166 and as far as I’m concerned I have the world record, although I guess as of this update they’re making it hardet so I guess my high score is invalid
sickr ebalzlf e,
Love this game
I don’t normally write reviews but this game is great. I love the lack of ads and just this game in general.

One thing I do really wish this game has is the ability to recall the discs. Sometimes you fire discs and they don’t hit anything and then you just have sit and wait. It would be great if there was a button or you could swipe down to bring the discs back. Other than that, great game!
Rootlake,
Hooked us all - originally
Vers 2: Such a disappointment. I loved how “clean” this game was and this new design is not. I no longer enjoy playing. Wish there was a way to get the original version back.

Vers 1: This is a true, simple masterpiece that has hooked my whole family for half a year! I saw your post on Reddit and got it, and it's been such a breath of fresh air: challenging, free, no annoying extras, just fun. The only downside is that I'll likely never best my wife's high score of 240. Please develop more games, I'd happily pay for quality like this.
nwill08,
Love the no ads and stress free fun
This game is a good one to keep on the phone to pull up when you want something to do while watching a rerun show or just have a few moments. Having no ads pop up every couple minutes also just makes it so fun and stress free! Highly recommend! One of my favorite apps I’ve ever downloaded. My husband loves it too. My high score is 208 and his is in the 300’s!
