Jason26M,
Great Fun but crashes A LOT
Pros; It’s simple and fun. The progression of leveling, class abilities, branches and equipment is fun and rewarding. The graphics are clean and colorful. The combat while simple and automatic has some strategy when choosing classes and when you you special abilities which are manually activated. They are on a CD and only one can be used at a time. They can have a huge impact on the outcome.

Cons: The “Push Back” mechanic makes it difficult for melee classes and it seems to favor ranged. Your characters can only level to 10 and Items are limited. So once you have leveled and acquired all the items, which doesn’t take long, you only have ‘Training” to increase stats for progression.

Biggest Con: At later levels the game Crashes Constantly. This always seems to happen after you complete a quest, tribute or dungeon. When this happens you lose everything you have done since the last save. I have tried to exit to main menu after completing every quest but it really stinks after you have gone through an entire dungeon and lose all the time you put in. You will need to exit the dungeon after every encounter and exit again to main screen to try and avoid this.

My favorite of Apple Arcade so far
I played it straight through on Story Mode then played it through again in Classic. Can’t remember the last time I did something like that. Recruit basic classes and fight in teams of up to 5 characters. You’ll find yourself fighting classes you’ve never seen before. Early on, it’s simply because your recruitment pool is shallow. But as your characters advance, they get the potential to specialize. Sadly, characters don’t level with use. You can increase their stats a bit with idle tasks between main events, but they don’t actually level unless you spend gems. And man, how I love not having IAPs to shaft me with those gems. You earn them fair and square with gameplay. It’s not X-Com or Baldur’s Gate, but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

In combat, I wish I could tap the character rather than its portrait at the bottom of the screen to invoke its special move. Doing so makes me look away from the combat, and many’s the time I make someone do a special melee attack and it turns out he’s out of range. He’d have known that and so would I have if I hadn’t been forced to direct my eyes off the combat. Nevertheless, a great game.
Notsatiafied,
I’m in love
I’ve honestly quite given up on games either on the console or mobile, since I’d be interested the first hour then ditch it all together the next. But this, this was different. I’m an rpg junkie, and seeing this on the arcade one Saturday afternoon was definitely the start of something beautiful. The art, the storyline, pacing, gameplay, was everything that could hook me on for hours and hours during the day. I was working double jobs that day but I couldn’t put my phone down, and even off breaks. And I stayed up till 4 am to play it further after getting off at 1 am. Now Sunday, mid afternoon, I finished the game. I honestly wished it was longer, thus the four stars, so much potential, so much to more to do, and until then my last star will wait. I’m so excited for the future of this game and I really hope people continue to support and push for this game. You guys have something good here and I’m excited for what lies ahead. :)
Justbeingmi,
The Best Game in Apple Arcade
Honestly, I’m not even exaggerating when I say this but this game made the arcade subscription worth it. Every flipping cent. I absolutely love the art style and character design of the entire app which is complemented by the great storyline. The game is so well made and while the game mechanics are pretty simple, they’re still so addicting, especially when combined with the content and upgrade systems. I played non stop through the game because of how addicting it is (especially since you have to grind a LOT) and finished the entire thing in a day. Distracted me from eating, studying, going to the bathroom, you name it. I really hope they make a third one or at least come out with another amazing game like this one. I had to unsubscribe to Apple Arcade after playing this game because none of the other apps could meet the standards this game had raised for me or beat the quality of this one. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who appreciates beautiful game style combined with addictive gameplay.
Free pass plz,
Great game, a few things to note on
A few years ago, I played Kings League: Odyssey and was immediately hooked. I couldnt get enough of it and would play literally all day. This game is very pleasant, with a great soundtrack and awesome gameplay. It is very close to the first game gameplay wise, but the storyline is much more creative.
Here are some pros I find in Kings League II:
-Great story line
-Awesome audio tracks
-Stragety plays a big role
-Very time consuming
-No in game transactions (not pay to win)

Although there are some things that I personally thought was missing or could be approved on. First of all, there are 4 rarity classes of characters in the game: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Story mode provides a Epic characters you can recruit from the storyline, and some that are given for free. Sadly, classic mode stops at rare. As well as that, I was hoping that there would be more choices of classes for characters like the Kings League: Odyssey. We see special classes that are only included in story mode that would really benefit the classic mode as well. So as a recap an update on rarities and classes seems almost essential at this point.

Besides a few things that I feel should be improved upon, I would recommend this game to everyone and anyone who wants a wholesome and great time passing game. 4/5 stars until improvements are made.
philodygmn,
funner than I expected
It's basically a card game but at least there's character development and variety between matches plus action combat interactivity. The orchestral soundtrack is pleasant and well orchestrated, if a bit pedestrian.

The play loop is frustratingly fragmented: the placement screen doesn't tell which class units are and can't initiate training nor swap weapons without bouncing to the home screen even though the training screen can go directly to the placement screen, plus placement shows units in a different order than in the rest of the game which generates serious cognitive load.

The way recruitment works tied to tribute cycles is never explained, nor is the fact that different colored circles by recruits' level is for their class, nor what classes mean mechanically, or I'd have never added what I now know to have been low-tiers! I want a way to get rid of units I don't want, especially since the placement screen forces me to scroll past them constantly. Advanced classes' capabilities are never explained until you gain them, leading to lots of wasted time losing fights I could have won had I known in advance what I was up against.

Even more time was wasted by not explaining how dungeons and trials work ahead of time. Progression was balanced in a way that left no time for side content if you didn't want to fail at the final challenges the first time or two. It feels like this project wasn't meant for Arcade until late in production.
Henny C.,
Beautiful but needs more Gameplay
I loved the Story mode and it was definitely a fresh new feel to the previous King’s League Titles.
I liked that Magic was expanded into Light and Dark, but I want to see that more in the class modes. Also, it was said in Story mode that there were Five Crystals and Dark if I’m not mistaken; I want to see those all those as Classes!
Classic is alright, but pales in comparison to the Story, but Classic is what King’s League was built upon. It needs more Classes, and they need to be fleshed out and distinct.
I have a problem with the fact that I can not organize in some way the order that my people are in before battle. Please make a way where I can organize and save a set. Also, Please make a way to sell or delete Characters, because if I have a rare, I don’t want a common sticking around.
Thank you for Listening! Great game, Great potential!
SpoonThrow,
Easily Apple Arcade’s Best Offering
King’s League was one of the first few Apple Arcade games I downloaded after purchasing my subscription, and quite frankly it raised my expectations to the point that almost all other Apple Arcade games (that I’ve played thus far) have been extremely disappointing and unable to keep my attention for very long - though for anyone reading this review who is also looking for other Apple Arcade games to play, I also greatly enjoy Ballistic Baseball and The Otherside.

All-in-all, King’s League is just a very well balanced game with multiple equally-valued aspects requiring strategy, and even a rather wide variety of battle types within the core gameplay mechanic which does an excellent job of eliminating the repetition and tedium that often accompanies the “grinding” aspect of similar games.
Captainmistake,
This game is a hellofalotta fun
I may (or may not have) ripped through this game in about 3 days but that’s only because I enjoyed it so much. The gameplay encouraged me to constantly be participating in multiple aspects, whether it be leveling up my team, participating in quests, or taking down “bad guys”...I was never left wanting from what I experienced.
A couple of bugs(or gameplay fixes)that could be worked out:
-allow party creation (to save time before every match, instead of recreating party before a match)
-allow “forest of gloom” to be initiated by player instead of monthly reminders...or you can force partipation 🤔
-there is a bug where characters will not show up during team selection for a match
-allow recruits to levelable/*sellable* from a separate tab (*give them value at merchants*)

Update: the bug when choosing characters for a match is certain characters will not show up during selection unless you filter by character type or you select another character. For instance...at the initial landing screen for party selection Fae is not available for selection but Igor is. After moving Igor to my party Fae becomes an available character
J3Reviews,
Huge Fan from a previous Monster Rancher player!
The game seems to draw heavily from the recruit, train, battle, explore, and manage formula that Monster Rancher made popular in the early PS1/PS2 era. There are some clear differences - more tweaks than anything that, in my opinion, make the game BETTER for a mobile release.

Overall, an easy 5/5 star game for me. The story has enough to keep you engaged, while revealing enough systems (and there are a lot! The game has solid depth) to keep the player from becoming overwhelmed too soon. By the second hour though, you’ll have a solid team of 4-5, you’ll be progressing through the different tournament leagues and training your wimps into studs.

Love the game, great job developers. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
