VeloCalabaza,
Workaround for the App Crash Issue
Someone posted this earlier but no one else has mentioned it. I tried this workaround and was finally able to use the app.

Before opening the Remote 3 app, turn off Wi-Fi on your iPhone. Open the app and it will give you the “No Wi-Fi Connection” message. At that point, turn Wi-Fi back on and the app will connect to your device as it normally would. However, if you switch to another app or once your iPhone auto-locks, you will have to disable Wi-Fi before returning to the app or it will crash again.

It’s not a solution, but it will allow you to use the app if you really need it. Prior to doing this I had also tried the Integra Remote app and it had the same issue. Hopefully Onkyo fixes this.
Meter Eater,
Want an Onkyo 4 App Please!
Onkyo Team, I love the convenience of having this Smart Phone App to control my WiFi enabled Onkyo receiver, but was very disappointed when I was forced to updgrade from my Onkyo Remote2 App to this Remote3 App. I lost the key functionality controlling the volume for my Zone 2 outdoor speakers. No matter what settings I change or which online forum’s advice I have tried to follow, my Zone 2 volume control within the app shows as “Pre-Fixed Out” and will not let me adjust the volume. What is frustrating is that this was never an issue with my Onkyo Remote2 App, but that App is no longer compatible with my iOS version, so I’m stuck with the Remote3 App. Please make this right and send out an update or a new version to resolve this issue.
Jason In Duluth,
Works well with a couple flaws
Overall it works well. Like other users have said I find it annoying that it has to search for the receiver every time I switch to a different app or something. It only takes a brief second or two so I can deal with it. But what really annoys me is the following:

for the life of me I can’t turn the volume up on Zone 2 (when I turn it up it always goes back to 0). I’m using it with a TX RZ800. I lost my original remote so I’m going to try everything to get it working before I purchase a replacement remote.

****Update**** I finally did figure out how to turn the volume up on Zone 2 of my receiver. I had to go into settings and change the volume on Zone 2 to variable and increased it to the right volume level. Now I just have to figure out how to get the sound to play but I think that’s a receiver problem and not the remote app.

With all this said I do recommend using the remote app. I can be out in the driveway and turn the music on. It’s great!
Expedia HomeAway VRBO Greed,
Remote 3 App Stopped Working!!
Called Onkyo and was told to write to admin. Two days after submission of my email informing them that the Remote 3 app was not loading on my iPhone 8 after a software upgrade I get a note back saying they are aware of the issue, but “we do not have information of the resolution.” A real non-answer. It has been 10 days, still no resolution.

Think twice about investing your hard earned $ in a company that does not support its products. They no longer update their music apps for my receiver, no longer have a wireless chip, no longer have replace remotes knowing the volume buttons fail, no longer update the firmware.
13boosted,
Switching Receivers
The app works great, but I have 3 Onkyo receivers and I can’t switch between them. I have “auto connect” turned off, but it still auto connects to the last receiver I used. When I open the app, it flashes all 3 receivers, but then auto connects to the last one I used. The only way I have found it to stay on the receiver list, is to power off my phone and the power it back on. If someone knows a way around this, let me know.

*update*. I figured it out shortly after posting this.
Chuck27now,
Works well with my new Onkyo TX-8140 receiver
I can’t use the standard remote because I don’t have direct line of sight access to the receiver. This iOS app solves that perfectly and is easy to use. My primary music source right now is Pandora and I’m delighted to see full Pandora functionality from within the Onkyo app. Looking forward to testing alternative source inputs from the app but I have no reason to believe that there will be any issues.
M.rodz,
Almost perfect
I have to say this app has worked absolutely beautiful for me. Easy to use and intuitive. A lot easier to use than the A/V original remote. And I’ve never had a problem with the app finding and/or connecting to the A/V Receiver or WiFi network. I gave the app 4 stars (instead of 5) because there is no option to listen to the audio via Bluetooth headphones, an option that available in other similar apps.
BP Thor,
Try Integra Remote for iOS 11
I was using this app for a couple of years and loved it. It was especially convenient for controlling Zone 2 on my Onkyo TX-NR636. I was really enjoying it on my iPhone 6 with iOS 10.3.3.

I then upgraded to iOS 11. Nothing would work. I waited as long as possible to upgrade to 11 due to the age of my iPhone, but another app forced the issue. I had waited almost 9 months to upgrade to iOS 11.

I was very disappointed that Onkyo did not work on this app to make it iOS 11 compatible. This is especially true after I just tried the Integra Remote, and it worked immediately after downloading! Give that app a try.
Bacon jdale,
Used to love this app until IOS 10
Onkyo needs to get with the program. I used the Onkyo 3 app to run several zones and now I have to run it from the receiver because they refuse to update to be compatible with IOS 10 and the iPhone 7. Yes, we expect to be able to use ALL of the features when we buy your products, not just some of them. So, as everyone below me has posted, update your software. My iPhone 7 doesn't connect to my receiver through this app any longer and it's irritating. I can get Bluetooth, but nothing else.
thisisnotanalias,
Fixed!
I was one of those with an older receiver (TX-NR414 from 2012) who had given up all hope for functionality from this app over the last couple of years. Today, for some reason, I tried it again and it is working again. Some combination of a new iphone SE, newer iOS, and maybe some work on Onkyo’s part. Thanks.
