Rick-M,
Great product!
I have been a Jiu jitsu athlete for almost 20 years and have put my body through the ringer. Throw in mountain biking, snowboarding, and skateboarding and you have a recipe for aches and pains. I started using PowerDot when they first came out. I though it was great back then. I have had a couple different versions of their devices and they have all performed amazingly. As I get new ones, I hand down the older models and even the very first one I bought is still in use. They last forever. I wish I had something good to say about their customer service or warranty, but I have no experience dealing with waiter because I have never had a single issue over the many years and models. I have also tried some other other devices you can get online, but those require you to set up all the part for each session. They are way more complicated and really unless you spend the time to learn everything about EMS and TENS, you probably won’t set it up correctly. My only gripe is that the butterfly pads don’t have a pull tab to help you remove them after use. Maybe they do now, I haven’t ordered any in while. Great product Josh/PowerDot.

Frequent surgeries and recoveries
I was really excited to find the powerdot because after several knee surgeries and recovery periods as an athlete I know how the technology has helped speed my recovery in the past. I also had some edicuatiom in kinesiology because I was interested in physical therapy as a job, I changed half way through and never got to the portion where we did clinical hours. So I’ve never placed EMS tabs myself.

One thing I think would be really helpful is if the images used to show you correct placement of the pads were illustrations to show the muscles rather than a photo. The photos that come in the package are excellent marketing material, but they’re pretty dark so it’s hard to figure out exactly where to place the pads. Sometimes I don’t seem to be getting the correct muscle flexion and end up moving them to try and find the right place.

I would also love to see some routines that are oriented around specific sports. For instance something that mixed together performance and strength to go along with mountain biking workouts that we’re doing. I’ve tried to make my own spreadsheet of performance, endurance, and strength in a rotation for the same muscle groups I work in the sports I do, but it’s a lot of extra work and I’m not sure I’m optimizing. I was excited when theragun bought this company Bc they do a great job of that in their app and made it easy.

Severe Back Pain; Surgery Patient.
I ruptured several discs years ago and had to ultimately have surgery. Extreme and chronic pain for years. Got turned on to TENS units and tried several. I have a Theragun and LOVE and ‘Live’ it for about a year. I found their PowerDot and Instantly in love with it. I cannot recommend this Highly enough. The possibilities are worth it. It is expensive. But health and living well is worth it; and the relief this provides is worth the price. It’s EASY to feel this as investment and not just an expensive toy. HIGHLY Recommended‼️
JZS1234,
Cannot register
Update: I was able to complete the registration on my iPad (iOS 16.3.1). So the problem appears to be with the iPhone 14 Pro and limited to the registration process. I’ve been using the PowerDot on my iPhone since then and all is well, have not experienced any of the connectivity issues that a lot of others have reported, The app is good, though a bit more explanation on the different programs would be welcome. The PowerDot is a great product and highly recommended with one caveat: if you need any technical support, good luck, you will be on your own.

I’d like to use my Power Dot Duo but cannot use the app. Problem is with registration process. I cannot use the app until I register. But there is a prompt in registration process that asks “where did you purchase.” There is no “Next” button on that page so the registration just cancels. I tried for over 3 hours with the chat help and that was a waste of time. The representatives are not helpful and not knowledgeable at all. The problem lies somewhere in the app. I am using an iPhone 14 with iOS 16.3.1. Like a number of others have raised, good luck if you need technical support because there is none. I don’t know what to do other than returning the product. Very disappointing given the high cost.
R-Fern,
Good, but overly complex
I love all of the programs available for the PowerDots within the app, but I feel like it is way over-baked and far more complex than it needs to be.

Why don’t you have built-in diagrams/images showing pad placements? All I’ve seen so far are the thumbnails associated with a given muscle/focus. This seems like a huge miss. I’m constantly having to Google something to find your online posts with placement. You even issue a booklet that shows the images, but do you truly expect users to carry that around (doesn’t fit in the case) when such images could be included in the app?

It seems like there’s no easy way to choose two different muscles to focus on. For example, if I have an issue that could use both adductor and knee or calf placements at the same time. There’s no area in your app where such use feels available outside of selecting a program and just running with it on my own. This to me feels like the hyper focus with all the different varieties of programs is entirely too specific. As a user I feel like I have to hijack the entire thing to use the PowerDots in the way I need/want for a given injury or recovery piece. If this is available, it’s NOT easy to find. So please rework this and provide better guidance.

The app at present feels like a feature factory without a ton of thought built into how a user will open it and want to just start using the PowerDots.
Moteaux,
On the Fence
Areas of treatment feel a little better at times after use, especially if it’s something that a regular massage would fix. Not really getting any healing from other issues such as elbow joint pain, shoulder pain or back pain from previous injury.

The most disappointing thing about the unit is that even to just use for a massage would be ok, although a bit over priced for that, is each time I’m having to disconnect and re-pair the pods to my phone and the app. Sometimes this works easily other times it takes a while.

IMO, it’s overpriced for the benefit I get and for the price it should work seamlessly therefore 3 stars.
stillriverpottery,
Shoulder pain relief
I have an injured shoulder that I have had cortisone injections and gone to physical therapy for. After the most recent reinjury, instead of going to the doctor I used our PowerDot. I got more relief from the 20 minute PowerDot session than from an injection! And I was able to repeat this therapy a few times over the week and with adding in a couple of strengthening exercises am back to being able to use it and sleep on that side again.
MexAndroid,
Great for relieve of tension and pain
My gym trainer introduced me to Power Dor when I was at the gym an suffered a back spasm on a Thursday. I could barely straighten my back... He hooked my up to Power Dot using a mid-back TENS program & in 20 minutes I was walking normally again. Continued to use Power Dot over the weekend and was able to go back to the gym on Tuesday and workout again.

Bought my Power Dot and it has also greatly helped reduce my knee pain caused by arthritis.

Highly recommended!!!!!
hugo i go where hugo,
Zero stars- not just the app but the entire system
The Bluetooth connection is horrible. I dont understand how you can sell something like this that works so poorly. Somehow my AirPods work flawlessly but the connection to the PowerDot units is lost repeatedly; and then getting them reconnected is an ordeal. I received replacement unit and they don’t work any better.

Slick marketing, presentation and design but 3rd rate hardware and software. The app just keeps going despite losing connection to the units and/or the units keep going despite me closing the app because the app has lost connection to the units.

I’m really disappointed after getting this based upon Lance Armstrong’s recommendation. I purchased the most expensive option they offered with dual units and extra pads.
R.R.D.,
Very noticeable improvements
I really like this app and all its programming options. However, it needs to have an Apple Watch app so you don’t have to use your phone — which is clumsy and awkward. The company needs to do a better job of explaining how the app and all its functions work too. Nowhere in the app does it even explain what the numbers on the PowerDot stand for! Instead the company has put in a ton of effort writing a lot of dumb articles about the difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding. Focus on the product and features, PowerDot.
