Enjoyable game to a point
While the game should be renamed Puzzle Craft 2: The Search for Cash, it is a good game. I really miss the first one though. I’ve been playing it for several weeks and I agree with other reviewers that you can have a good time with it up until the third town. Personally, I refuse to spend good money for virtual currency. I did it once for one of the Farm games and was ashamed that I spent so much.
As I’m getting to the end of the 2nd town, I play it once a week. I go into the game and collect game gold for 5-6 days and maybe play for an hour before I have to save up more.
I will recommend that you find out what the next town requires before you leave your town to go there because you will cease to have any more money coming from the buildings. I found this out too late and had to start over.

Progression is Paywalled
TLDR: The game has great concept and fun gameplay, but progression requires you to perform unrealistic feats.
Up until you have finished the 2nd town, the game is fantastic. However, after upgrading your town center to the next level in order to move to the third town, you then learn you have to either pay $10 USD worth of premium currency OR unlock multiple species in order to move on to the next town. Most of these species are relatively simple to unlock, although time consuming. However, one of these species is a herd animal species, unlocked by collecting long chains of pigs, which is significantly difficult to do even once without spending premium currency at such a point in the game. After doing this once, I found I was just 1% of the way to unlocking the species.
I remember a while ago this game did not have this massive progression wall, I do not know when it was implemented but I remember I had great fun with this game before then, but paying a significant amount of real money to progress is not something I want to do. If you have a large amount of money to blow on mobile games, you may enjoy this game more than I have.

Quality Mobile App
In an endless sea of trash mobile games! It’s refreshing to have such a a great game like this! It’s core mechanics are pretty simple, but as you unlock more species of plants and animals while only being able to bring one type of species of each you really start strategizing on what materials you need most and what species will get you them fastest. The game plays pretty smoothly for the first few villages, you get to place decorations and buildings freely, with the buildings giving you buffs and bonus tools, you get to customize the colors of buildings and build your castle, but once you finish the snowy village it starts to get tougher, you realize that you don’t have the species you need to progress, and unlocking them will take some time, although if you’re ok with a bit of grinding then it won’t seem like anything more than a minor hurdle. All & all I think it’s a great game that’s worth your playtime!

Amazing game
Amazing game with an Exceptional Dev and Support team.
When having to transfer apps, after having bought several of the upgrades and bonuses, I emailed them with my receipts of purchase and in less than an hour I got my in game upgrades back for the game! I absolutely love the simplicity while being able to be smart about what tiles choices. Plus there is plenty of content with the amount of goals to work for I really enjoy that you can get and do everything without paying money as well,(even tho I did because I thought the developers could use it:-))

Cash grab based on original
Very similar to the original however they reduced the moves you get reduced to 10 and you cannot unlock more unless you pay real cash for onetime use extra moves then you get 20! Which is what you started with in first game and could get more by building and upgrading. I was ok with a bit of grind from the first but this is awful.
They had great ideas like adding different types of crops, but the grind and lack of resources to achieve goals makes this game slow and hampered.
They get you in with small town that works properly with sufficient moves then move you to the “real” town and place the limits. A bait and switch.
Only reason it did not get one star is that there are no ads during gameplay unless you click on them.

Back for more!
I absolutely loved Puzzle Craft (the first one), and loved it to bits. The only thing I had issue with was it was rather short and simple after a while. With its sequel however, it seems expansive and an amazing successor to the first. Being able to choose between each type of resource before a gathering session, such as grass for faster wheat gain or meadow grass for faster hay gain, is a really smart way to focus on getting the resources you need, and also another goal in unlocking all the resources. Can’t wait to keep on playing through!

A pretty annoying bug
First of all, fantastic game. So happy to see it back after EA destroyed Chillingo.
Anyways, I’m having a pretty annoying bug issue where the quests menu is always giving me an exclamation point to indicate I have a new quest, but there are no new quests on it. I tried refreshing the game but it’s still stuck there.
It’s becoming increasingly irritating for me and I’d very much appreciate if this was fixed. Thank you for reading this.

This game is not like what it used to be
I remember playing this game for months in the past and enjoying it because the progression wasn’t paywalled. Now is a diff story. The amount of grinding it takes just to progress the map is absolutely insane now to the point where it almost seems impossible. It doesn’t seem this way on the tutorial map u progress super easy, but the second map is an absolute disaster trying to get past. Well I’m not stupid, game devs, and I won’t give u a cent nor watch ur ads for anything :) nice try walling me. And I hope others read this before downloading cuz this game is just not worth no mo! By the way I do support good games with money and watching ads but not when it’s walled!!! Nice try! :)

Wrong Direction from Puzzlecraft 1
This is essentially the original Puzzlecraft if they increased the reliance on in-game purchases and decreased the amount of days that you have to farm/mine. Were you annoyed with how many tools you have to make? It got worse. Were you annoyed with how much time you have to wait for your gold to increase? It got even longer. I was disappointed because I had all these same complaints about the first Puzzlecraft, and it seems like everything I disliked about it originally got worse.

Same game as before but you have to start over.
If you’re wondering why your old puzzlecraft 2 game stopped connecting to the servers, this is the result. Now you can have a fully functional game again but you get to start over. You’ll get a pathetic bit of gold and runes for this.
I get that a sacrifice had to be made as companies changed, but not migrating the user data (I had a level 87 character that was finally finishing up the massive grind to the pirate stage) is totally unacceptable.
Three stars because it’s a fun game. -1 for the massive grind and -1 for not migrating my data.
