The perfect app for you!
The Sharecare health and wellness app has been the perfect tool for me during quarantine! At the start of the pandemic I downloaded the Sharecare app, and many others like it, to help with my fitness and wellness goals during quarantine. This app was BY FAR the most complete and the perfect tool to help guide me on my health journey. What I love most about the Sharecare app is that it not only tracks my fitness and health progress, it has got the best Covid-19 coverage of any app, a unique feature which I could not live without in today's world. Covid-19 coverage is just one reason the Sharecare app is the place I turn to when I need up-to-date, accurate, and reliable health news. The Sharecare app exceeded my expectations and I don’t know what I would do without it today. For those who are looking for a wellness, fitness, health tracking app and news sources that can do it all, the Sharecare app is for you!
C Farber,
Keeps getting worse
Forced to use this app in order to get a credit thru work. Used to be able to simply go to the gym 12x/month. This app often just skips chunks of tracked days. Support will say, you have to open the app at least once a week (boiler plate response = they didn’t read and understand my complaint). Guess what, I open the app every day or two in order to try and avoid the issues.. nothing changes. I tell them this, and they just tell me again, you have to open it more frequently. So basically they aren’t gonna fix it cause they don’t even acknowledge there is an issue with the app.
Today, when I inquired why their app can’t go back and look for data on missed days and they they told me they can only access the previous 7 days. So when I am missing 5 consecutive days, they assume I’m lying and didn’t sign into the app for 12 days?? That should be the only way 5 days of data is missing. BUT the kicker is, I sign into it every day or every other day. And this ordeal happens every few weeks.
I know I’m ranting a bit, but this is quite frustrating. And then when I send a screenshot of step data from the health app as proof, I’m told that they can submit them for review (as if they’d have a reason to deny it), but they’d only submit my screenshots if I do the real age test again. Wow

Not really impressed
Started using this because BCBS is rewarding based on activity level through the month instead of gym visits. I was surprised that you can literally only enter steps though. BCBS has a whole conversion chart for a wide variety of activities into steps per minute, but every time I want to enter something that’s not walking or running, I have to pull up the chart, plug everything into the calculator, and stick the resulting steps into the app, and manually add multiple things if I do different activities in the same day. Encouraging walking is great for non active people trying to make a change, but for those of us who are active it’s a pain to enter the different activities we do. It would not be hard to have a drop down with alternate activities and a duration entry within the app itself to do the calculation and add to the step count, and would make it easier for active people to use the app.

Also, app has been taking several minutes to open? I’m not sure if it just hangs more often than not, but I usually have to try several times before it eventually opens. No app should take 5+ minutes just to open, my phone has gone idle before it ever come a up.

Ideal way to keep track of your health info
This app can do so much more than I realized. In addition to calculating my RealAge in a scientifically-backed questionnaire, I can track my stress, steps, sleep etc. And when I do track, I earn awards and healthy “Green Days.” I get interesting articles based on my health profile. One other great function is that all of my test results from biometric screening etc are automatically entered into the app. I can keep track of my data this way and also share it with my doctor. I also like doing the monthly Challenges for extra motivation. The app also helped my find a specialist and save money on medication. Out of all of the apps I have, this is one of the most useful.

Went from always working to sometimes working
For the past week, my Sharecare dashboard wouldn't update with any of my additions. I tried it from the web site, logging in there for the first time in months, and had the same problem. So it seems they might be having a database/server issue rather than an app-specific issue. I contacted support last night after reading the other reviews from people with the same problem, checked this morning, and all the responses that I had been entering unsuccessfully had now appeared. Then I got a reply back from Support saying "looks fine to us!" and admonishing me to not be logged into the app and the website at the same time. Summary: something is obviously broken in Sharecare, it may or may not work consistently for you, and if you have the patience to submit a support ticket it might "magically fix itself". (Your time and stress spent troubleshooting for them might not be worth the bonus your employee gives you for using it.)

Confused
I’m reasonably tech savvy, but this app is confusing and unintuitive. Aside from the clunkyness, why can’t this app automatically track the data from my iPhone’s Fitness/Health app? The only thing this app is designed to track and reward you for are steps. That’s it. I do daily CrossFit workouts in my garage instead of going to a gym. I have a heart rate monitor on my Apple Watch that tracks the calories I’ve burned, but none of this translates to steps. I’m pretty sure that in 20-30 minutes of intense exercise, I’ve burned more calories than taking 7,000 steps. And if somehow I try to convert calories to steps and enter those steps manually, it doesn’t add to the steps I’ve actually taken throughout the day, it overwrites them and only counts what I’ve manually added. Very frustrating and not worth using for someone like myself who does more than just walk.

Great holistic health experience
The Sharecare app has a ton of info, tools and services packed into a little package. It takes a little time get familiar with all the features, but there’s great stuff there. It’s cool that by taking the Real Age test the app gets to “know” you so it can give you advice and articles that are relevant to you. Tracking your daily habits is a great way to keep yourself “honest” when it comes to things like eating well and sleeping enough hours. The articles on the scroll screen are always informative and well-written. I would recommend this app for anyone willing to make the effort to improve their health on a daily basis.
123Howdy,
Nice attempt. Poor execution. Syncing stinks
I have the app syncing to my smart watch. It looses connection and I find several days missing. I have to toggle on and off my Bluetooth and turn on and off phone and watch to sync them. On the home screen under steps it lists 5 days. When I go into the tracking calendar I have 3 weeks. I am pretty sure it will not log the rest of my earned days. When you try to edit daily steps it won’t let you when you click “edit”. If you click on the steps it will allow you to add steps. The find a doctor portion stinks. It should lump all of one clinic together and allow you to sort that way. Right now if you enter a procedure that you would like done and try to find a clinic it brings up hundreds of drs before for one location. I am not spending hours scrolling through all the drs. I called the 800 # instead. It was faster🙄

Slow and buggy
The app stinks. My insurance replaced the gym credit with this for rewards, and I like that, but the app itself is pretty hopeless. I have to go into multiple screens to clear a notification every time I go to the chiropractor, the green day qualifiers are not great (as an introvert many social interactions every day is NOT good for my mental health but apparently that’s the only way to get a green day), and even opening the challenge isn’t enough to log steps - I regularly have to manually add steps then it will adjust. Finally I can’t sync with Garmin so I need to go through Apple Health. It’s worth my $20 gift card (I miss Target being an option), but barely. It’s a means to an end and not an independent resource for me. Today I can’t even log in at all. It logged me out and I get an error when I try to log in again.
kyseeache,
Totally antiquated
I downloaded this because my insurance promoted it. I got about five questions into the initial questionnaire and got so angry I had to delete the app immediately. First it asked me about what I ate that day, with leadingly-worded multiple choice answers that gave me the option to choose between “no processed food” and “too much processed food.” Modern views of nutrition acknowledge that using a good-food-versus-bad-food model leads to disordered eating. Then they asked for my waistline. My WAISTLINE. For what is touted as a general health app. I feel sorry for anyone who downloads this app and hasn’t been exposed to enough body positivity and information about the lack of correlation between health and body shape, and winds up getting trained to shame themselves for eating processed food and to believe that a smaller waist means better health for all bodies.
