Description

Best friends Arina and Frendt fall into a series of vibrant, dreamlike island gardens peppered with everyday objects from their childhood. Together they embark on an emotional journey that examines the significance of their friendship: the memories they’ve built, what must be let go, and what should never be left behind.

Lost in a mysterious realm where cause and effect are malleable, the friends find that time flows in all directions. Manipulate time to solve puzzles and reach the apex of each isle. Relaxing

I played this game rather quickly, I think it took me about a week and a half. I have a lot of anxiety so this game helped unwind. The ending really moved me and made me feel like a kid again. I really liked that there is a story to it all and overall I found it very creative. The music is also another amazing factor. I saw in the comments that people were having some technical issues, I played this game on an iPad mini and had no issues whatsoever. To sum it all up: Very good, very fun, very relaxing, emotional, beautiful graphics, serene music, makes you forget the bad in the world momentarily.

Crashes if you connect any controller.

This game looks gorgeous and captivating, but also looks like a huge hassle to play with a touchscreen and tiny hands. I thought surely the controller compatibility advertised would take care of this problem, but alas, the game literally crashes every single time you connect a Bluetooth controller, whether it’s connected BEFORE you start up the game itself or try to connect it once it’s started. I’ll consider giving it a try someday, but this seems like a really blatant technical oversight that was a huge headache to even figure out the origin of, given that, again, your App Store page falsely claims that it is controller compatible. Added a star since I’m technically not reviewing the game, which looks good — sure would’ve been nice to try it in a format I’m comfortable with.

A true light-hearted casual experience

It took me a few levels to completely understand the mechanics of each of the various artifacts that you interact with, but overall a real joy to play. The level and puzzle design is fun and imaginative; the music and sound design contribute to ambience that is equal parts wondrous, mysterious, yet relaxing as well.

My only frustration was attempting to sync a game controller...it caused the app to crash. Was hoping I could try this on my Macbook as well but apparently it's not supported.

Still, one of my favorites on the Arcade.

Makes my phone way too hot too quick

This game is so cool but it’s too high def for its own good. Which I don’t understand because the graphics are pretty simplistic in design. I can’t play this game for more than a few minutes because of how fast and how much it heats up my phone. That’s pretty frustrating, that what is preventing me from enjoying this game has nothing to do with the actual game itself. Please make the app less bulky, especially since the graphics are so simple you have a lot of fat to trim. It’s also a major drain on my battery, which I suspect is related to the issue with the overheating. I WANT to like playing this game but for now I can barley play it at all. Please fix this.

Great game to relax to but…

This is a great game to relax and unwind to; especially with headphones. I prefer to play arcade games with my Backbone One controller; but this is the only game I’ve come across that doesn’t seem to be compatible with it, and will crash if you try (once you get past the intro.) additionally, I play it on an 11 Pro Max and for some reason it heats up so fast that after only 5 minutes of play I close the game because I can’t imagine that being good for the phone. I can easily get past not being able to play it with my Backbone, but I just can’t enjoy it when I feel the phone get that hot so fast. If not for that I’d give this 4-stars and be enjoying it every night when it’s time to wind down.

Fun game but not controller compatible

Every time I try to begin a level in the game while using my Backbone controller for iPhone the app ends up crashing. I’ve tried opening the level before connecting the Backbone controller and once it’s connected the app crashes still. Apparently I’m going to have to play the game using tap and drag movements. I’m really enjoying the game so far, just wish that I’d be able to play it with a controller. Hoping the developer will release an update to patch the app from crashing.

This is my kind of game

I am a recent gamer and I got hooked with Arcade’s ‘Wylde’. After that I thought I would only like games in the that genre and then I decided to give TGB a try. I wasn’t thrilled that I couldn’t play it on TVoS (future dev.. maybe?).

Anyways I got hooked and kept going back anytime I got stuck at a puzzle piece. I finally finished it and I got so emotional at the ending. I’m like, OMG! I just went on a journey with these two individuals.

I highly recommend you try even if it it not your speed. You definitely won’t regret it.

Great Puzzle Game

If you like puzzle games like Monument Valley or Lego Journey you’ll like this game. The controls are so easy to pick up my 4 yr old has been playing this without getting frustrated. I’m helping him with the puzzles, but he’ll keep working on this for weeks until he can do it himself. The puzzles are definitely challenging, but so far I haven’t gotten stuck for too long. Just long enough to make it satisfying to solve it.

No new content

I want to give this game 5 stars, it’s beautiful and just difficult enough to be fun without being stressful. However I was really disappointed to find that it’s the exact same game I have already beaten multiple times. I thought with the + on the title that there would be at least some new content in the game but no such luck. If you’ve never played this game before it’s fantastic and you definitely should, if you were hoping for something new and already played the regular version of this game you will be disappointed.

Pretty game with a lovely story!

I started playing this game a couple days ago. I like that each level is increasingly challenging while maintaining consistency with the story. Love the graphics and the two characters.. Easter eggs and details are lovely. I must say in imo the playability feels a bit slow, and whenever you come back to the map menu after completing a level, the control’s feedback is so slow that you almost feel that game has stopped or isn’t responding… Besides that, great game overall !
