Lennie K.,
Great for review as well!
I studied Japanese while in college and only had classes for beginners to the lower intermediate level. Now that I’ve graduated and I’m busy with work, I don’t have as much time to study formally like I did before. This app has been great for me. I use it for about 20 minutes a day to review the basics. I’m familiar with everything on the app, but it never hurts to strengthen your foundations. If I had to make a complaint, is that there isn’t more content! I know this is material for N5 learners but I would LOVE to see more for levels N4-N1. I also use their official website (which is how I found out about this app to begin with). I seriously enjoy the content you have to offer and hope that you’ll be expanding it all soon in the future. I wish that I had found you all sooner! <3
Dat dawg person,
Almost great with glaring problems
While this app does appear to be one of the best sources for learning the grammar of N5 specifically, and I plan on using it for that, I think it has tons of issues that hopefully can be hammered out with future updates. There are tons of performance issues/glitches when navigating the menus particularly when exiting a lesson. I think vocabulary could be made all around better for learning by not making it multiple choice, or at least having the option to do that. Also it seems reviewing vocabulary is likely a huge pain since you have to manually add words to create your own review list, and without doing that you don’t really have any options. For grammar stuff it’s hands down the best resource I’ve found, but again, the UI doesn’t work well. I hope these issues can be fixed at some point, especially the UI problems because that’s just really bad.
Smealek,
Amazing start looking forward to updates
Anyone around JlptN5 level and learning N4 kanji should get this app, basically absolute beginners. I wish I found this app earlier, so now I’m just waiting for it to update with N4 grammar breakdowns, and N3 hopefully. Other than that very pretty app, but I do have some suggestions. First of, it isn’t working completely fluidly and does get finicky with drag and drop, and occasionally freezes stutters—I am using iPhone 12 for reference. Anyway aside from that, I think for new learners, it’s good to have an immediate learn/review button. Learn the term, and practice immediately—although I don’t mind the way it’s laid out now. Anyway great app really looking forward to an N3 update, and to really use it 🙆‍♂️ great great start.
sunriten,
Palatable grammar for short attention spans
If you got a goldfish attention span like me, this app is pretty good in getting the basics of grammar. After struggling to go through the genki textbook and tae Kim’s grammar, I just decided that an app is easier for learning as an absolute beginner.

Now I’m not necessarily saying that an app can replace stuff like tae Kim or genki, but at the very least I can punch out some grammar per day and try to retain bite size info.

Disappointed that this is a subscription model. There isn’t really enough updates to justify the lack of a “lifetime” purchase. However I still think it’s a solid app and you don’t have to pay anything if you don’t want to.
Daidaimaru,
An App you will not regret downloading
Whoever made this app is nothing short of a saint, considering the fact that it actually makes an effort in teaching you most of the generic Nihongo terms, grammar, kana, and Kanji that wannabe casual Japanese speakers will want to be able to identify in an everyday setting. I legitimately have no idea why in the world no one else didn't even bother to review this, so take my word for it; it's a great app for people willing to put in the work to study the language!
NyetheArtsyGuy,
Super Useful
I've been using this app to learn Japanese for only a few months, and I've definitely have been progressing since then. However I find it a bit difficult to remember things, but I've been doing other things to remember the characters and words, like watching videos in Japanese. It's super useful and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who's interested in learning Japanese.
RingoSteel,
Great resource for beginner
This app offers both free and subscription options for the user. For me, without the subscription, I still get a good amount of resources for reviewing the alphabets and grammar. The subscription will offer more for the learner to practice their vocabulary in reading and listening. In addition, to the resource, the interface is nice and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend this app.
AyaseXD,
Great app!
This is my favorite app for learning and practicing Japanese. I struggle with particles and sentence structure so I love the drag and drop feature on here. It also covers everything you need to know, I hope they expand to offer all JLPT sections. Some book explanations can be confusing but this is very simple and straight forward. It was recommended to me by a friend, glad I downloaded it! Keep up the great work.

COBAN— For Learning Japanese
I am really having fun learning Japanese with this APP. I also like being quizzed afterwards. I have other JAPANESE APPS but this one ☝️ is the only one that I take the time after studying that I test myself. Like I said before it’s fun. When it’s fun 🤩 you explore the whole APP to find out everything it offers to help you. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. If you are learning Japanese just explore this APP.
SP161,
Crashes after update
I just want to start with I LOVE this app, it’s well organized, easy to navigate, and fun! However, ever since it got updated whenever I finish a set of exercises it crashes. And the progress from completing the exercise doesn’t get saved. Again, I still love this app. I 100% recommend it, crashing and all.
