mrm53959,
Great motivator
When I first discovered this app, I was elated—seemed like just what I’d been looking for. Then when I first downloaded it, I was a smidge disappointed, because it isn’t quite as “slick” in its design as I’d anticipated. But once I got into it, it became exactly what I wanted. I walked the Camino “with” a pal 600 miles away, and we had a blast. In this pandemic, it gave us a nice chance to be in close touch through the app, and also just to get off the couch. We enjoyed sharing screen shots of our virtual lunch spots and lodgings, and other sights along the way. We researched wines of the Camino, and logged #poolsofthecamino. It’s been really lovely. Neither of us wanted to sync with other trackers (though we both use them) so that wasn’t an issue. And there is a nice Facebook group that has gathered to support mvm trekkers which I recommend.
MMAAVV,
Great idea,terrible app
I saw some of the reviews that were bad about this app and I thought well it can’t be that bad. It is that bad. I think that with my Apple Watch, but I have to manually enter in my steps at the end of the day it says it’s connected but it doesn’t pick up anything. The usability of the app is bad, you can’t really see what’s going on as far as where you stack up it’s kind of like looking at Google maps or something. I do get postcards when I meet certain milestones that they are to me from me, so that’s kind of weird. There’s not any scenery or anything along the way that make it like a virtual experience at all, it’s basically entering in your steps and seeing the percentage you’ve completed, and getting a virtual postcard to me from me and that’s about it. It says I can join a team but I don’t know anything about these teams. I see a bunch of people on the same mission, and I can click at them and look at them but really who cares. He kind of reminds me of the queue that you see of people trying to climb Everest....A log jam of people along the trail. So I love the idea, I would like to be able to see more visually, I would like the thing to actually sync up my steps from my device like it said it would, and I would like more of a virtual experience of where I’m at on this thing instead of looking at some weird Google map type of thing. I bought two missions, so I’ll do the next one. But this app needs a ton of work
TF6789,
Love this!
I have participated in several missions now. I love the medals and think they are well made. Once I figured out how to use the app and website, it has been so easy. It keeps me active and gives me a great goal to accomplish. I also love the map feature, where I can follow my path on Google Earth. A special note deserves to be made for 2020. I have finished and started missions during the pandemic. Because the supply chains were affected, some of the medals were late in being delivered. The company has bent over backward to keep good communication with their participants. I always knew when they were expecting shipments and deliveries. The global supply chain is out of the control of small businesses. This company did everything they could to deliver on time, and immediately sent out medals when they became available. They have had great customer service through it all and I have nothing but respect for them!
RieDefine,
Great... When it Works
The app is usually great, but there are some things that need help. I have a Fitbit linked to the app. All was well, until I got a new phone. Same exact phone as I had before, but now my Fitbit and the app don’t work together. I contacted support, who just told me that there is a small percentage of people who have the same problem. Super helpful. So now, I’m stuck manually inputting my distances every single day. Then there’s the issue with Street View. Sometimes it works, sometimes it kicks me out if I move it, and sometimes it won’t load at all. Again, I contacted support who could only tell me “it’s working on our end”. That’s great for you, but I can guarantee I’m not the only one having issues on the other end. I’ve given up on trying to get help from support, because they never have a fix. These things make me want to never do another challenge with these people. When I’m done with the LEJOG, I’m done. No sense in paying that much for something with a faulty app.
Psych np,
Great idea, clunky execution
My sisters started a journey that sounded fun and I joined them about a week later. Joining their “community” required several “text” messages back and forth with support. Three other family members decided to join and all had the same problem. Support initially responds as if they don’t understand the problem and refer you to their help articles which do not explain why the community password doesn’t work. When my partner joined, I used his phone to pay the fee but my credit card. Still, two days later he received notification he needs to pay. When support was asked about this, the response was “Where did you purchase this?” On the software! No way to send screen shots to support. Text only. Lastly, I received notice that someone was following me. Someone with multiple sexual acts in their name. They are not from a family member. Still no way to get a screen shot. Working with support is too time consuming. I’m not sure this is a safe app.
Surak's C'Thia,
This is awesome!
As someone who is not really big into exercising, but trying to get better, this is an great motivator. I just finished my second challenge and the bling looks great! As a travel and history buff, I love checking my distance and location on the app and virtually touring sites around the world, especially in the days of COVID, when physical travel is not an option. Customer service is great when you need something and then medals ship pretty quickly. I got my first one within two weeks of completing my first mission. The app seems like it was built on or for older iPhone models and is a tad slow, but overall, it’s been great! I originally signed up for Hadrian’s Wall, because I love Roman history and the medal looked cool in pictures, but I’m now on my third challenge and totally hooked!
anirlz,
This app could be so much better
There are a lot of great features in this app, but it could be much better. It is quite laggy. The fact that it only syncs with my apple watch a few times throughout the day is frustrating. The newsfeed is basically useless. While its great to see people’s accomplishments, why can’t we choose to follow friends that are doing other challenges? I can search for a friend & see their progress, but I don’t see a way to follow them. Also, if a person completes a big chunk of their mission, say on a long run, it clutters up the newsfeed with a progressive progress report for each milestone. I do like the street view features & the postcards. Little details like that make it more enjoyable yo use. A few improvements could easily make this 5 stars!
gingersnap80,
App is old, slow and awkward
I wish I had been able to see the app before I paid money to join a challenge. The experience on desktop is much better (although not modern or slick feeling either). It’s clunky, the screen is stretched on my iPhone XR, and it’s really slow. The map interface is poor and overall it’s disappointing.

If it’s auto-pulling info from your phone or watch, It only updates your progress 4x a day (but doesn’t tell you when). If you don’t open it every day, it won’t log your miles so - day, you go 3 days of workouts without remembering to open it. On the 4th day you open it and it doesn’t register the last 3 days until basically the *next* day (day 5) so it’s hardly something that I can put a 20 mile bike ride into and get the awesome satisfaction of opening the app and seeing where I am now on the Ring of Kerry or Hadrian’s Wall and feel accomplished. (You can just enter your mileage manually.)
Todamage,
Nice concept, but lags & incomplete
I really, really wanted to give this app higher feedback. As advertised through the Conqueror virtual series, the concept of running a 90 mile race that is tracked via this app and updated live seemed amazing. So, here's the feedback.
Pros: "live" tracking along a preset course (using increments that you add or are fed from a fitness app); "viewing" and interfacing with other competitors along the route; link to embedded google map for map & street view; sharing progress via manually entered text & pictures.
Cons: Linking live data from fitbit and UA never worked (despite many attempts & resets); map data lagged (the map would take 3-5 minutes or a restart of the app to display my updated location); street view didnt exist for half of the locations that I "stopped" at (very frustrating); switching between tabs within the app lagged at times.
LKOrchid,
Great Motivation and Medals 🏅
I love this app!!! I joined The Conqueror Virtual Challenges because I am unable to participate in any real world races due to physical limitations. I limited to a stationary bike. I wanted to challenge myself by doing something, but at my own pace. I joined over a year ago and I’m on my third race. The app is straight forward and even shows where you are in the race. I personally like to see the street view. The medals are lovely and even during quarantine, I had a question and it was answered right away. I even received my second medal after a month even with all of the shipping delays around the world, I was impressed. It came from New Zealand and I’m in Florida. Mail takes a week to get here from NYC. Please make more races and I LOVE this app :)
