KAOSFLTR,
Lacks documentation
I really like that the app lets you adjust and customize your experience with your hearing aids. I just wish that some of the adjustment features were explained more thoroughly. For example, the background noise adjustments for speech, noise, and wind. The icons at each ends of the slider are not intuitive. Is it the noise you hear from minimum to maximum, or is it the amount of correction for noise, from minimum to maximum. I’ve experimented with the wind setting, and I can’t really tell much difference. A little explanation would really help guide that experimentation to see if I notice a more pronounced difference over time.

In addition, the user guide appears to be missing some of the features available in the app, and other features listed in the user guide cannot be found in the app. For instance, the Translate tool is mentioned in the guide, but I can’t find it anywhere in the app itself. Also, there is a button on the volume control that isn’t explained anywhere in the user guide. It’s like the app was updated, but the user guide wasn’t. App version 3.1.0

Better documentation of features and updating the guide would turn this app from 3 stars to 5.
Gr8ded1,
Meet the new app, same as the old app
New update, zero changes. Starkey’s idea of providing “superior seamless audio” is having to hold the phone next to your head while listening to music. If you want to put your phone in your pocket, forget it. It makes your hearing aids digitize and cut out almost immediately. They will certainly respond to this with a useless answer, but Jabra’s cheaper OTC device has better performance via Bluetooth and Starkey hasn’t updated the firmware for the actual hearing aids in ages. Apparently it’s totally fine for people with tinnitus to have to deal with digitizing noises directly in their ear canals…

I wish I could give zero stars, and I really wish they would JUST FIX THIS
revmama_,
App w/potential if it worked consistently
Unfortunately the app fails to maintain a consistent connection to hearing aids even though they are reliably paired to iPhone or iPad. This means that the ability to customize settings or utilize the other sophisticated features built into the app is severely limited. Developer’s comments about turning on and off Bluetooth, etc. in response to reviews are decidedly unhelpful to everyday users who deserve a functional, stable interface. I hope that future updates will address these deficiencies. As of now this app fails to deliver what it promised which is great potential.
BSJBuc,
Terrible app
It work for awhile and then quits without warning. This is the third time this has happened and it always happens late on a Friday when I can’t get to my audiolofor help before the weekend. Upon reading the responses from the development similar issues it seems they don’t give a crap. Very poor cussedvice. I’m so fed up!!!!
Ctoal53,
It still doesn’t work…
My right replaced “new” Liveo Edge AI hearing aid is disabled as soon as I launch the app. Then it produces massive static and fails the self test. It will NOT work with my iPhone 11 Pro because it will not connect to Bluetooth or work with the Hearing setting on the phone.
Rrsdtib,
Cannot find hearing aids
New iPhone 14 Thrive working but showed 2Thrive icons. Put one in trash. Both disappeared. Downloaded app which shows a Starkey icon not Thrive. Cannot find hearing aides. Blue tooth on, aids on and in my ears my ears. How do you activate Thrive?
Ramsnazz,
Audible reminder
It often fails to work
hairbrain2020,
Pleasantly suprised!
Read some of the review and not sure people understand Bluetooth is only able to connect to one device at a time. I see a lot who are not happy they have to turn of Bluetooth on phone to connect to iPad. This is a bluetooth issue and not an app issue. This will always be the case until Bluetooth is advanced and updated. Also remember the Bluetooth connection comes from the phone/iPad not the hearing aid. If you have issues with dropping connections make sure you don’t have it set up on both. I only keep app on my phone and the connection has been strong. I do connect to my Ipad when I have the need but have never put the app on there. At first it would try to switch between them and I would get streaming in one ear. I changed the apple hand off feature to off and have had good results. I was advised to toggle Bluetooth on/off if there is ever an issue to renew the connection. I have several Bluetooth speakers and have done the same if the connection is lost. Bluetooth is not the strongest signal. Hence the reason you can use it on an airplane. It will and can be broken by other frequency interference. I believe in the last 30 days I have cycled my Bluetooth connection twice. I also turn my phone off weekly as Apple recommends. Overall I feel this is the best Hearing aid I have owned out of five previous sets in my 30 years of hearing loss.
HawaiianStevo,
Overpriced and performance underdelivered…
I’m a life long hearing aid wearer and with the new Livio Edge AI, I absolutely hate it. I returned it for a full refund. The “bells and whistles” on Starkey’s AI Livio is over rated. The automatic turning up and down the volume makes no sense. How can one consistently measure how far away the sound is when the volume is always adjusting. It cause severe audio fatigue in my case. Also, the devices are considered “Medical Devices” regulated by the corrupt FDA so they can charge a ridiculous price of $6,000 a pair. If Air Pods Pro can simply add an equalizer and turn up the volume, it would work well, at a price of $250 a pair. There’s nothing sophisticated about these electronics. It’s simply an amplifier with anti-feedback, and an equalizer (to adjust various tones to fit with one’s type of hearing loss) It’s time to put an end to the monopoly and allow competition provide better products at a fair price. $500 for a pair should be the limit, not $6,000. Starkey is ripping you off big time, and they don’t care.

Update: Thank you for wishing me luck on my hearing journey. I found that the Costco’s Kirkland 10.0 hearing aids to be outstanding, at just at $1,399 for the pair. That’s more than $4,500 savings than Starkey’s overpriced set. Love my new Kirkland 10.0 rechargeable. I will never buy overpriced hearing aids again. Thank you Starkey for making me shop around. Aloha!
3D0G,
Works OK but recent updates sometimes only see one aid
I have been using Thrive since the early versions and it has continued to improve. However the most recent update provided no improvements and now it occasionally fails to see both HAs. Occasionally I have to force quit the app and then reopen it then wait for a bit until it sees both aids. Previous versions did not do this. I am using Livio AI aids with the app. It’s time to add some real function to this app. First, the ability to adjust each ear individually. The aids have individual programs for each ear, and so should the app. Second we need more than four sliders for customization. The aids again have many so why only four in the app? Third the user guide could be more comprehensive. Very little memory is required to store lots of text - or as an alternative publish a thorough manual I could store in the Books app. Fourth, I frequently need to talk to someone while streaming TV audio, and can’t hear what I am being asked. How about a temporary “Hold” button that returns me to memory 1 and stops the streaming?
