handyvorb,
Doesn’t work (updated)
Broken software. Won’t connect my Apple Watch 8. App just says can’t find anything even though app is on both phone and watch and Bluetooth is on. Tried searching from the watch and from iPhone 12 Pro. Neither see anything. Never had any issue connecting anything else.

Update:
Digging into it more I discovered I had to buy hardware to get this to work with Hydrow (which can Bluetooth to any standard heart rate monitor without additional hardware). Found out way to late into this I needed additional (expensive) adapter to get this to work. Works, but pricey, and mislead. Took off one star for that.
ZellerC,
Excellent
Initially, I was skeptical. I have had Apple Watches in the distant past but never felt they measured up to the traditional training smartwatch. As the Apple Watch Ultra came out, I considered giving it another go but Apple did not integrate well into my training platforms, bike computer, or trainer so I looked into possible solutions I found Watch Link with the Watch Link USB and Watch Link Pod hardware. It seemed like it could be a really good answer but I was still skeptical. I contacted the company and had multiple extremely helpful and honest interactions which ultimately led me to use the app along with purchasing both the Pod and USB Watch Link products. Shipping was very prompt. The setup and integration into all my equipment and training platforms was intuitive, simple, and quick. There is no delay in reconnecting each day and there is no signal loss or drops. Further, it appears to be extremely accurate when checked against other HR monitors. Up until recently, I have held on to my prior traditional training smartwatch but have finally sold it. For my training, I plan to continue with Watch Link as long as possible. I also happen to be a physician working in Obesity and Lifestyle Medicine. I have recommended both the app and hardware to multiple patients who have Apple Watches.
Stumper32,
Watch link works with Kiosk
I added the watch link to my Trek rail and after a few tech support interactions its working great. I am sure setup will go smoothly in the future. I would give it a confident five star rating but I haven’t figured out how to use it while I am using the Apple watch workout app at the same time. Seems like you can only use the native app, which is good, but would be nice if the native app could work in the background. Maybe its able to, but I haven’t figured it out yet. But if you want to use your Apple watch to display BPM on the Kiosk head unit, it will do it. Great solution and the best customer support.
no more rentals,
EXCELLENT Customer service & great for Hydrow.
I bought the USB Watch Link in March to pair my iWatch with my Hydrow. It has worked perfectly, but I ran into one issue where I couldn’t get it to pair, despite it working 12 hours prior. Customer service responded to my online message with a telephone call less than 2 hours after I initially contacted them (shout out to Ed!). He walked me through exactly how to fix it (turns out it was an issue with my iPhone and iWatch and didn’t have anything to do with Watch Link) and had it working again in a matter of minutes. It’s run perfectly ever since!
MMM&I,
Customer service
I purchased a watchlink usb to use with my peloton tread. Two days after receiving it, setting it up and having it work on the tread. Peloton announced that the apple watch was now compatible. I sent an email to PK fitness requesting consideration of a return even if it was partial. They responded quickly and worked with me to return the item with a full refund. Customer service is always highest on my list of referring friends and family as without customers there is no business. I would consider this product and recommend them due to loyalty and high regard.
KrisTrax21,
Worked great until it didnt.
Really loved this product for the first few weeks, then all of a sudden stopped working completely. I tried to change the battery, and uninstalled the app only to find that it can't be reinstalled on my Apple Watch. Appears to be some glitch, and to make matters worse their customer service is contracted through another third party that manages several other products. I consider great customer service to be 1-2 business days response, and this seems like it's going to take much longer to get my issue resolved...
Mbrproductions,
Love This Product!
When my Peloton HR monitor failed, I was looking for an option that did not require a chest strap or any other wearable; I just wanted to use my Apple Watch. I found out about Watch Link from a Peloton Facebook group, and took the plunge. So glad I did! Seeing my HR on the screen helps keep my workout where I want it. A small glitch recently had me reaching out to customer service, and Ed responded within MINUTES with a phone number. He talked me through the fix, which was a simple technical glitch. I cannot say enough good things about Watch Link!
SoundRecluse,
Don’t believe the hype!!
As it stands now, I’ve only had one successful ride using the watch link app and device which is rather disappointing since the only things you can find on it are praise pieces and videos about how easy it is to use. I’ve tried to search through their troubleshoot section on the watch link website and was given the stupidest FAQ questions. When looking for ways to troubleshoot connection problems they provide a generic “connection” FAQ answer that seems to gloss over any actual connection issues one might run into such as the device no longer broadcasting a Bluetooth signal. I’ve followed their instructions to the letter and have not had any luck. Buyer beware this is not the magical fix you were hoping for, keep searching.
Merrilly TX,
Easy to Use & Excellent Customer Service
Extremely pleased with my purchase of the Watch Link USB for use with my Hydrow. Easy to install. (Be ensure you also purchase a USB-to-MicroUSB 2.0 adapter as the Hydrow only has a microUSB 2.0 port.) Easy to pair with the app. And excellent customer service, as they responded within an hour to a question I had and thoroughly walked me through an issue I had with connecting to the Hydrow. (Simply needed to reset the Apple Watch.) Well worth the money for the simplicity of the product and its associated app.
Mklusacek,
Great solution for my Apple Watch
My Apple Watch wouldn’t connect to my Hydrow out of the box, but this little device made it possible. Imo much better than having to purchase a separate heart rate monitor and deal with another gadget. I like simplicity!

It took a couple tries to get it to set up. The support was fast and helpful, now it’s consistently connecting.

Tap the app on my watch, it connects in 1-2 seconds. Start the rowing workout, and off we go. Heart rate displays on my hydrow screen. Super easy.
