frfiallo,
Rough edges, fun game
This is a deck building rogue like in the vein of Dream Quest and night of the full moon. Moderate learning curve, as both the battles and world map have quite a few mechanics involved. Some of those mechanics, such as the major and minor buffs are not always well-explained, which made fine-tuning decks challenging.

My other complaint is the metaprogression. I don’t think even the best player could beat the boss on normal difficulty starting a new save game. Increasing your character’s and map’s experience levels unlocks more powerful cards, making subsequent runs much easier. I have mixed feelings about that.

Some assets are incomplete, with flavor text missing and at least one feature (execute) that is present but not functional. Graphics, music, and animation are all good. Art style is consistent.
Sarcastaball,
Surprise roguelite sucker punch, not cool
So hey, I got Netflix, I like games, looked online for their best offering and this game came up. I play for a bit, seems cool, building my deck and powering up bit by bit. Nice. After 30 tiles that were a pleasant mild challenge, you get forced to fight an impossible battle, where at best you manage to slay one of three OP opponents that respawn anyway in 3 turns. So you die pathetically and only then can you discern the roguelite structure of the game: new cards are awarded for your forced failure to help with the next run. So you’re never gonna progress past the first 30 tiles for maybe dozens of runs before you can power up enough to get past them, after which the process repeats after another 30 turns and grind grind grind away. I like roguelites, I even like roguelikes which are much harder. But that’s because you know it’s coming and it’s a challenge start to finish. Totally blindsided here and absolutely zero motivation to play a pretty easy mellow game that auto-nerfs you after 30 turns. Pick a lane guys.
clarle,
Best game in the Netflix catalog
It's really good, by far the best game in the Netflix game collection right now. It's a card battler rogue-like like Slay the Spire, but a bit more complex with multiple heroes rather than just one and slightly easier difficulty. It's more satisfying to set up card combos in Arcanium than StS because there's so many different paths, though.

A run is a pretty good length (not too long, not too short) and it's easy to just pick up and play even when you just have a few minutes between meetings or something. Only criticism would be that there's a few interface bugs from time to time and it's harder to play on a phone if you have big fingers at the later stages of the game.

As someone with like 100+ hours played in Slay the Spire, Arcanium is like a 10/10 for me for sure.
Tangyhand,
Quite good if not for bugs
I’ve played a couple games so far and am afraid to up the difficulty because of all the little bugs with equipment and effects. I imagine it’ll get patched eventually but I’ve had a game die early because I transmuted a card in my deck and it just didn’t show up. Said I didn’t have enough cards. Same with the legendaries not equipping or just disappearing from my inventory. Haven’t had many crashes but it happens. Also this game destroys your battery life. Hella fun though. I’ve played a couple games like this with the card battles and this just feels better because of the options you get and learning those play styles are viable because of the other support characters. Recommend for sure.
AfroV8tr,
Great - crashing
This will be a a five star game once they can fix the frequent crashing. The runs are really fun, and the characters are pretty diverse and interesting build options. The most frustrating thing is when you defeat a boss and pressing continue to finish the run and the game crashes and you retry beat it and it crashes again. Once the crashing is fixed I could easily see maxing out each character and playing harder difficulties. Until then I’ll just keep pushing through looping restarts
david is hot,
Fun to learn
You have a lot of options to explore in the game so it’s fun to try out different things. The different characters are cool.
Some bugs:
When Mozebus and Shinzo are in the same team they have the same passive effect but only one triggers each turn.
Tara’s Windsplitter heirloom does not activate the correct effect. When equipped it functions as Tara’s Warden Hood
The quests can be buggy. One run my quests were so bugged that all three were marked completed but I could turn them in multiple times through restarting my app or going to another ? tile. This resulted in me getting over a dozen Shrine effects and the run being easy.
jimbohod,
Rushed port to mobile
The constant crashes are a real problem. They occur approximately every 15-30 minutes and sometimes your game gets completely stuck where you can’t do any more actions without it crashing. It’s a shame because it ruins what seems like could be a really fun game. I get the impression this was rushed to mobile, as it’s been on steam for desktop for a long time, and no one there has this issue. At least call it beta if you know you’re not going to do even the most basic of play testing. I’m a bit surprised Netflix didn’t demand more from supercombo and rogue games. As it stands you’re paying them, and yet your brand and reputation is taking all the heat for their missteps.
Somefish254,
Great Roguelike
This game takes after Dream Quest and Slay the Spire but offers multiple characters similar to the lord of the rings tcg. Great innovations and UI.

Don’t listen to the other reviews saying the game is impossible. I was able to beat the arkhan boss on my first try with the starting level 1 lion, fox, cat on Normal Adventure. I did not have any unlocks and this was ,y first time playing the game. It took strategy and it took me 4 hours since I had to think hard about my strategy and read all the cards.
mryuk,
If you have a Netflix account and don’t download this you’re crazy
This is so much better than almost all the games like this I played, and I played all of them! I cannot believe a game like this existed I didn’t know about it doesn’t constantly nag you to pay money. I see that it had low ratings because it used to crash a lot but so far I have not seen that so I think they may have fixed it. Thank you Netflix, please make more games like this.
saint411,
Hella nice!
Love the game. The fact that it doesn’t constantly ask me to spend money or throw ads at me makes it even better. Gameplay is fun. Have some problems with minions playing correctly. But other than that fantastic!
I am having a hard time getting it to sync with my iPad and phone, even though it says my account is backed up through Netflix. Would love some help with that if anyone could.
