Nyefmaker,
Omada Simply Works…!!!
I don’t leave a lot of reviews for many things, but need to for Omada…! As my title stated… Omada Simply Works…! I have been on the program for over a year, I am 49 years old and have lost 65+ lbs to date. I found Omada through work and joined and my life has changed completely. My success has also tuned other co-workers onto Omada as well. I have eaten healthier meals and more fruits and vegetables with Omada than I probably have my entire life. The lessons are invaluable and the greatest thing with Omada, is your coach. Mine has been a Godsend and she has guided me from day #1. I have had weeks where I lost a few pounds and weeks where I gained. Weeks where I lost nothing. But consistency is what it teaches and it also teaches that while not every meal may be perfect, it’s the mindset that it puts you in that brings you success. When I started I was around 315 and am now in the 240’s with more to go. I have tried other weight loss programs and nothing worked for me. Omada has and I will praise it as I feel finding Omada saved my life. I was feeling so low physically and mentally that I didn’t think I would live to see 50. Omada changed that. God Bless you for an amazing program.

Best longterm solution for living healthier
This app and the Omada program have taught me so much, stuff doctors and the internet can’t teach. After going through the program I can assure you I feel more confident about making healthier choices. The information provided and the support from the coach is impeccable. They are here to help and they do. The group can either be supportive or not. If you do this go all in, the program doesn't aim to fix you immediately or make extremely drastic changes asap. They go in stages. They do it because it works. Focus on something one week, build it into your routine and keep building. I feel significantly healthier and I see results. My group wasn’t the most dedicated, but I got what I needed and I have a way to go. The program changed my life and helped me get out of a rut and actually see results. Will you fail some point yes, I did. You stick with it you will see results. Tracking is key, I understand why, its basic science experiment. Establish a baseline, keep that baseline and understand the changes based on your tracking. Figure out what your doing that caused the change and you will. Tracking is everything.
EddieStarr,
I’m at a loss for words
I was so very lucky when my health provider said that I qualified for this program I didn’t believe it but the scale signed up for the program I’m in the group everyone is fantastic our trainer is amazing the communication is effortless you can do it web-based or through your phone on this app, The way the program is set up to encourage you and inspire you but I probably should just review the app and not the program I don’t know I’m just going to say it’s amazing I love it Derae say almost magical but nothing is magical when it comes to hard work it’s the technology that makes it seem magical it’s the seamlessness the integration and the communication everything comes together perfectly it’s just an excellent program I highly recommend you ask your healthcare provider if you qualify if not maybe you could use Omada instead of a gym membership,, idk , I’m only in week one so I’ll wait a much better review after I’ve been in the program for a few more weeks so far so excellent I’m really loving it
richarolo,
Omada program good, app bad
I believe the program, essentially, is based on the idea that if you get into a habit of setting goals and monitoring what you eat and do over time - that simple task - even if you don’t make any changes in your diet you will now have the data in your face and that will motivate you to do something. Eventually you’ll figure out what works for you. But the app is not good. Can’t set weight goals in the app. Used to, when you reached a weight goal, you’d get a “congrats” and you could see your percentage toward the goal. They took that out. App is SLOW. Spinning wheels all the time. Can’t enter weights manually which wouldn’t be a problem but the scale transmits half the time and half the time it doesn’t. I cannot count the number of times I’ve beat my weight goal (finally!) and the scale couldn’t transmit the data. Weight fluctuates and of course I might have to wait 2-3 days to consistently be below the goal and have my weight transmit. Kinda takes the fun out of it. Also, omada tracks your starting weight. Say it’s 240. Then you gain 10 pounds. Your max weight is 250 as tracked by omada. Then you lose 20 pounds. Your weight is 230. Omada will say you lost 10 pounds with omada instead of the correct number which is 20. Lots of bugs.
DonnaWaterman,
Great app but does not link Apple Watch users
This is a great app so far. Just one complaint. You need to be able to Apple Watch. They have all different trackers Fitbit, Garmen, etc but you cannot link your Apple Watch? 1/2 the world’s population have them. Seriously I closed all my rings today on the fitness appApple Watch but in my Omada I look like I didn’t achieve any exercise. I am aware that yes the iPhone has a health app and you can link up with that—but I’m in my 50’s and I do not constantly have my phone attached to me, however my watch is on me during the day. Something to think about for all us Apple Watch users please. I still have a 5 star because I do like the app and it functions well.

NOTE: I changed my 5 stars to a 2 star.
You updated the app and it is horrendous. I now have to retype all my food when it was saved to make my meal tracking easier. When an app works well do not change it! You make stupid changes on things that work but don’t bother adding the Apple Watch to work with your app?? Have the world has folks that have Apple Watches. PLEASE go back to the simpler older version of your app. It was easier to use for meal tracking. Less is more. Keep it simple.
mojonumber7,
Program good so far, app could be improved
Note this is a review of the app, not the program. The discussion boards are hard to follow and not well organized in my opinion. You can’t comment on a comment in a thread so the discussions seem to get jumbled and out of order with all comments and sub-comments mixed together. I can’t see easily where a discussion topic starts. Would be nice if you could click on a discussion link and see all comments on it and sub-comments and comments on sub-comments. And maybe see which comments are new somehow. I feel I have to re-read things to look for updates and new posts/comments because it’s not clear what is new. Also, please consider doing separate water tracking. I drink throughout the day, not with meals so I don’t track water in the meal tracking but would like to have a log of how much I drink each day without using another app. I do like the personal coach message board and the progress page (except for the water thing)! Having the resources separately is helpful too. Would be nice if I could dismiss ones that aren’t helpful or interesting to me so I had the most helpful in my list. Good start but not great yet.
CAP4rich,
The Common Sense Greatness in this Program
I can’t say enough about this program. As my title indicates, there is such common sense and rationality about this approach. We are encouraged without criticism; we are given lessons without being preached to; and .we can access shared recipes that are not ridiculous. I say that, as I reflect on some of the commercials for the most popular diet programs - featuring all the wonderful desserts and snacks that you can buy and consume as part of their process. In my mind, that is ridiculous. If you don’t begin with a common sense approach for portion control AND for the consumption of snacks and desserts, how do you truly modified your eating behavior in a positive way. This program focuses on the best way to lose weight and sustain the loss. You adjust, you modify, you don’t apply guilt or false expectations, AND you ultimately achieve success - it may be slow, and it might be more deliberate, but like the race between the tortoise and the hare.........let’s remember who actually won the race!
14Marti,
What a great program!
Omada is a wonderful program! They provide you with the tools you need to change your life! My coach supported me daily by being available for questions and by providing encouragement. The group support was also very helpful! You are part of a small group at first, all going through the same part of the program. You know you are not doing this alone! Later when you become part of a larger group, you still have the group support & encouragement.
The weekly lessons gave information that I was able to use to make changes to my diet & activity level. You are not expected to make big, drastic changes all at once, but make small changes, that become habits. These small habits are the lifestyle changes that will help keep the weight off.
I was able to lose weight, but also make some great changes to my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure numbers! I feel much more energetic and healthy.
Thank you Omada! You are a life changer!

RECENT UPDATE HAS DIMINISHED USER FRIENDLY MEAL TRACKING
The new app update has made it much harder to enter food choices/meals, and honestly makes me not want to do it as much now. Previously, I was able to edit my entry after entering it, for example, if I made a mistake. Now I have to delete it entirely and type it all again. Also, I was able to go to a previous day and copy the text of any given food entry and paste it into the current day. Not possible now.

The auto populate function of the food entry page is not very efficient as my food choice history seem to be gone with the new update. To be honest, it never really populated well anyway in previous app versions. The food entry should default to the users most recent entries first, then to whatever database the balance of suggestions come from. Something I just ate yesterday should be a lot easier to pull up and populate into the current days choices.

There’s many other meal tracking apps out there that do a way better job of this than what exists in this app.
Outrunna,
Impersonal Program
This is the second weight loss program I’ve tried and yet again, nothing is tailored to your habits, eating history, exercise, etc. You will get the exact same information and “feedback” as everyone else. I tried this program for two weeks and I feel guilty my insurance provider paid for this.

The program is very deceiving in making it think your Coach or Group care about anything you provide as input. For example, I explained to my Coach in our initial contact my reasons for joining, goals, and challenges I wanted to overcome. I was left with essentially “that’s nice” and then just bombarded with daily rhetorical questions instead of actual feedback or analysis. After I stopped entering data or responding to questions, you would think my Coach would reach out or check in to see what’s up but nope. The lack of care makes this program so impersonal that you have to wonder why this program even exists.

Don’t join thinking you are going to get anything more than some canned lessons and programs that are available via a quick Google search. The food tracker is useless compared to other free apps. The only positive item is the scale linked to the app.
