Needs tutorial
Today was first time using it. My provider kept saying he was putting things in the chat. But there wasn't a chat window. After awhile I noticed a red circle with the number changed from 1 to 2 to 3 and recognized the number changed everytime he told me he was putting something in the chat. So I tapped the number and a skinny side window opened with words all scrunched up making them illegible.

Then when the meeting ended, nothing. Just a blank window. No way to get to the information he had typed. It disappeared.

The connection was fine, the audio and video worked well. It would be so very helpful if there was a tuturial explaining what the icons mean and how to get the typed chat links and info over to where I can store them outside of the meeting so I can use them.

One Star Rating
This is the first time using this app. Now before we start, I have the latest iPhone and M1 Mac. Internet speed of 1000 Mbps. I used the link to get into the meeting and it joined the meeting with no video or mic and i could not hear anyone. I opted then to download the app and then amazingly it worked intermittently frustrating connection issues from their side. The facilitator who began the presentation could not be heard from the start, and no one was being heard. They logged in, then out, then back in a number of times until they managed to maintain somewhat of a connection. He was also within the VA Hospital, I can see the office. I, on the other hand, could not hear anything the facilitator was saying. Nor can I understand anything; the presentation video was relaying so choppy and 80% with no sound. This is very frustrating; if we as Veterans are to use this venue for appointments, how can we use this efficiently if the VA has poor connection issues due to being routed through bottleneck network access. I think that the IT department needs to be evaluated and the app in general. Both need to be at par with the demands of Veterans and their experiences with the app. We need quality not quantity from apps.
Tonia S. Bailey,
Quit whining
I think the VA has done an excellent job with this app. I use it on my iPad with WiFi and have had absolutely no problems at all. I did have an issue where the Doctor could not hear me so she left video on and called on the phone. After my appointment was over I realized that my volume on my iPad was all the way down. That was operator error, not a problem with the app. It is a safe and secure way to have a face to face with any doctor at the va. Is positioning of a camera that serious? I think that with everything that is going on in the world today that it is amazing how we as a “people” have adapted. At least I can see the people I am talking to. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this app. Absolute Kudos to the developers and again, thank you for sour service and or support.
Corey T Miller,
It’s unreliable
This app and VA video connect process has been nothing but problems. Did all the process the test my connection before the meeting and it worked no problem. Even had a VA employee reach out to me to test a video call with her and had problems connecting but we got there in the end. On the morning of my appointment that I had waited 3 weeks for I attempted to connect to the call via the appointment link they sent to my email. I even tried to connect to the call 15 mins early just to make sure there we no problems. I tried 6 different times to use the link just to be meet by a grey screen. Processed to try and call the VA hospital mental health office to try and resolve the issues and get further instructions were I was greeted by voicemail on three different attempts. I just wanted to get some help but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. Again thanks for nothing VA. I can only imagine how many other people slip through the cracks as well.

Was this designed by VA technicians
This app. works as good as my previous doctor at VA. Was this app. designed in a third world country because it functions poorly. Ineptitude is the standard throughout the whole VA system. I worked 13 years for state government and similar less than quality products were created and awards were given to the technicians for simply going live, no one cared how bad the thing worked. The problem is the same in local, state, and federal government, too many people are allowed to sit in positions for too long. They resist change because “we have always done it this way” and those who sit in a position for 30 years have never experienced other employment so industry best practices are never applied. When younger and brighter staff is hired, their input is ignored and shunned so this is the reason this app. doesn’t work correctly and will never work correctly. But like true government, very soon they will switch to an more inferior product happily.
Grimreaperchik,
Open it with safari!
The app it self is a gateway to use for video connect. Once you receive the link in your (tablet, or cellphone) you will need to click on the link says “Telehealth scheduling Service system” click on “click here now to join VA video connect visit” then as the link opens up you will want to make sure it opens up in safari not google. To do this you will have to copy the link off of your google address - copy and open safari - past the address unto safari “web address” then open the link that way it will open it up. You will have to add your name and press “connect” and make sure to allow to use microphone and video. You should be later connected with your provider. Hope this helps!

Getting Better
Over the past couple of years our VA locally has gone from simple unsecured free conference apps to using this program almost exclusively. With privacy concerns becoming more important than ever and now becoming fully compliant with HIPPA Privacy Laws I find that it is more comfortable talking about more sensitive medical concerns. This represents a giant step forward for appointments that should not be done in person. Unfortunately it is still a very poor substitute for appointments that need a physical examination and a spot on diagnosis. Most vets are not fully aware of what their different minor symptoms may mean and little issues become bigger issues very quickly. This is a good tool for informal follow up but over use will lead to bad healthcare.
Cybot iPhone,
Buggy and unreliable. Lack of support.
Good luck getting anything to work very well when using this app.
The user interface seems decent when it works.
If your Provider is sending you anything via chat while in session, you will need to select on the red circle to see what is being sent. If the session closes, you will lose out no longer have access to anything your private has or is sending. There is no way to save anything.
There is no easy tutorial explaining how to use this application or any of the features.
Most of the options do not function at all.
Worst of all, the app isn’t stable and will often crash during a provider session and the only way around it is to have your Doctor/Provider call your person cell number.
Support is a joke. There isn’t any.
When trying to find out how to use or if there is any issue, the literal response is as follows: “
Get Immediate Help

If this is a medical emergency please call 911.

If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call the Veterans Crisis Lineat 988 then Press 1.

For urgent matters related to an appointment within the next 72 hours, please contact your VA Facility.

The app is frustrating and poorly designed to be reliable. You will miss your appointment, often, when attempting to use this app.
Colburnite,
Clicking appt link in email does not launch VVC app on iPhone 14
I have an iPhone 14 Pro. I have the VVC app installed. When I click on my appointment link in my email, it does not launch the VVC app as intended. Instead, it launches a mobile browser session in the Chrome app, and requests permission to access my camera and microphone, which I grant.

The experience of connecting with my VA provider in the Chrome mobile browser is not a positive one. I have tried copying the appointment link from the email and pasting it into a mobile Firefox session, but this is no better than Chrome.

Is there anything I can do to make it launch the VVC app when I click on the appointment link in my email — or to find out why this is not happening as intended? I am able to participate in troubleshooting this issue in a phone or video call, if you would like to connect me with a help desk technician. I myself am a healthcare IT help desk technician, so I am well versed in troubleshooting end user issues with computers, mobile phones and browsers.

I look forward to hearing from your team.

Customer Support Garbage
I normally don’t take the time to write a review even after having a bad experience but the customer service for this app is utter garbage. This is why veterans commit suicide but when they ask for help they just get pushed to the side and pawned off on somebody else. Call my cellphone provider to resolve issue that was the response I got. Iphone 12 which is a year old and able to connect with other devices in my house with now issues. Even tried another iphone with same issue. Customer service acting like I’m a idiot that can’t press a button and being told either it’s cellphone or internet provider. This is why veteran hate the VA let’s just pawn it off and somebody else will deal with it or they won’t be around anymore and no worries.
